Job DescriptionRegistered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) Location: Rochester, NY Contract Length: 13 Weeks Shift: 3x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Job Summary The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergency, trauma, neurological, cardiac, and critical care conditions. The RN is responsible for rapid assessment, triage, emergency interventions, patient stabilization, and ongoing monitoring in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively manage high-acuity patients. Required Qualifications Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License required. Current AHA BLS Certification required. Current AHA ACLS Certification required. Current NIHSS Certification required. Recent Emergency Department experience required. EPIC EMR experience required. Experience with ventilator management, CPAP/BiPAP, and IV vasopressors. Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills. Trauma, stroke, and emergency care experience required. Responsibilities Assess, triage, and provide emergency nursing care for patients of varying acuity levels. Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and emergency treatments. Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to emergency situations. Provide care for trauma, neurological, orthopedic, and medical emergency patients. Manage ventilated patients and respiratory support therapies. Perform phlebotomy, IV starts, and central line care. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in EPIC. Follow infection control, isolation, and patient safety protocols. Float within skillset as required to support patient care needs.
