Job Description OVERVIEW: The Community Navigator engages homeless young people with the goal of increasing their connection to natural safety nets and access to community resources designed to address the medical, mental health, financial, emergency shelter and other basic living and safety needs of young people on their own. This position will assist homeless youth and young adults in crisis intervention, problem solving, action planning, and skill building, in order to address immediate life and safety issues, reduce the risk of sexual exploitation and abuse, and reduce or prevent incidents of homelessness. In addition to short-term crisis interventions, this position will partner with homeless young people to strengthen their permanent connections with safe and healthy adults already in their lives. This is a full-time position at 35 hours per week, including 2 evening shifts a week. There will be community events and outreach opportunities on weekend days, so flexibility is needed. These weekend shifts would be agreed up and scheduled based on staff availability. Valid NY State driver's license required. Job Description OVERVIEW: The Chrysalis House Relief Counselor will monitor and provide support for residents in the event the On-Site Support Staff and/or Skill builders are unavailable for personal emergencies or scheduled vacation. Hours for this position are flexible and depend on the needs of the program. Overnight Relief Counselors will remain awake from 10pm-12am to help support residents during bedtime hours. Once the residents are asleep and their shift responsibilities are completed, they may go to sleep in the private space provided. Job Description $1000 Hiring Bonus OVERVIEW: The hours for this position are generally Monday - Friday, 10 am - 6 pm. This is a full-time, 35 hours per week, 12-month position. Counselors must occasionally work outside their regular hours to meet the needs of the youth served. The pay range is $19-$21. The Community-Based Counselor is responsible for providing ongoing individual and family counseling to youth/families seeking Center services. The Community-Based Counselor will complete the comprehensive assessment begun by the triage/intake counselor. This assessment includes identifying issues related to substance use/abuse, problem gambling, and other risk factors inhibiting healthy youth development. An Individualized Service Plan is developed and implemented based on the assessment and goals identified by the youth, including appropriate prevention activities. Community Counselors then provide short-term counseling and activities that focus on resolving identified problems and/or assessing and improving the level of youth and family risk and protective factors predictive of substance abuse and/or problem gambling. The average caseload of a Community-Based Counselor is 15/20 cases. Community-Based Counselors also provide crisis intervention, family counseling, and information and referral services as needed. This position will deliver Prevention Counseling services throughout the various Runaway and Homeless Youth Programs at The Center for Youth and other community partner programs. The Community-Based Counselor will be asked to assist with Intake/Triage responsibilities and to handle crisis phone calls as needed. They are also responsible for providing community outreach and networking with other agencies/providers to coordinate client services. The Community-Based Counselors are part of a larger team of Counselors trained in youth and family group facilitation. Job Description OVERVIEW: $1000 Hiring Bonus A Prevention Education Specialist is responsible for developing and/or delivering research-based curriculum with fidelity through youth and adult planned duplication sessions; trainings; and multi-session, psycho-education groups regarding alcohol and drug use, chemical dependency and other related topics relevant to youth, families and those who work with youth. PE Specialists are responsible for promoting/marketing the Center's prevention services. This position also provides outreach via information dissemination on the full array of collaboration services provided by The Center for Youth. The PE Specialist may be called upon to fulfill the duties of the Social Learning Specialist in his/her absence and therefore may be cross-trained in that position. PE Specialists facilitate youth development groups; independent living skills training for the clients of the Center House – an emergency shelter for runaway and homeless youth (and other sites as needed); provide consultation/support to other programs and are a training resource to the agency. Note: This is a full-time, 12-month position. Routine work hours overlap to the school day 37.5 hours/week. Special events or projects may take place during the early evenings occasionally. Job Description The hours are as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday- 9am-5pm, Wednesday- 11am-7pm OVERVIEW: The Chrysalis House Case Manager will be assigned pregnant or parenting clients from both the residential and non-residential tracks of the Transitional Living Program. This position will provide intensive case management, including basic and independent living skills assessment, training, referrals, and other supports as needed, as well as assist in implementing the parenting training and engagement across the TLP Program. This is a (12) twelve-month, full-time position.
