Job Description About Us Preston Wood Pediatrics Home Health is a compassionate provider of pediatric therapy services dedicated to helping children reach their full potential. We specialize in speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, early intervention, and support for children with autism and other developmental needs. As we expand our services with a new office building and daycare center to better serve low-income communities in the DFW area, we're looking for dedicated professionals to join our growing team. Position Summary We are seeking a licensed and dedicated Pediatric Physical Therapist to provide home-based therapy services to children throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. You will evaluate, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs that help children improve mobility, strength, coordination, and functional movement skills to promote independence and quality of life. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of pediatric patients in home and in clinic settings, • Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings, family goals, and evidence-based practice, • Provide physical therapy interventions focusing on gross motor development, strength, balance, coordination, gait training, mobility, posture, and functional movement, • Work with children with diverse diagnoses including developmental delays, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, muscular dystrophy, torticollis, neurological conditions, orthopedic conditions, and genetic disorders, • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans to optimize outcomes, • Collaborate with families to establish meaningful, functional goals, • Educate and train parents/caregivers on therapeutic exercises, positioning, and handling techniques, • Provide resources and support to empower families in their child's development, • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) as assigned, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare providers, • Communicate with physicians and referring providers regarding patient progress and recommendations, • Complete timely and accurate documentation including evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and treatment plans, • Ensure compliance with state regulations, Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, insurance requirements, and agency policies, • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations, • Stay current with evidence-based practices in pediatric physical therapy, • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities, • Contribute to quality improvement and program development initiatives Required Qualifications • Licensure: Current Texas state licensure as a Physical Therapist, • Experience: Minimum [1-2 years] of pediatric physical therapy experience preferred; new graduates with strong pediatric clinical rotations welcome, • Transportation: Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle with current insurance for home visits throughout DFW area, • Background: Must pass background check Preferred Qualifications • Experience in home health or early intervention (ECI) settings, • Training or certification in specialized pediatric areas such as:, • Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT/Bobath), • Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT), • Pediatric Taping (Kinesio Taping, etc.), • Torticollis and Plagiocephaly Treatment, • Gait training and assistive device fitting, • Pediatric aquatic therapy, • Experience with children with complex medical needs, • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills highly valued, • CPR and First Aid certification Skills & Competencies • Strong clinical reasoning and evaluation skills, • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, • Creativity and adaptability in treatment approaches, • Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload, • Cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse family backgrounds, • Strong organizational and time management skills, • Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation systems, • Compassion and patience when working with children and families What We Offer • Competitive salary commensurate with experience $75K - $90K annually DOE, • [Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance], • [401(k) with company match], • [Generous PTO and paid holidays], • Flexible scheduling options to support work-life balance, • Mileage reimbursement for home visits, • Continuing education allowance and paid CEU time, • Professional liability insurance coverage, • Supportive, collaborative team environment, • Opportunities for clinical advancement and leadership roles, • Mentorship program for new graduates, • Opportunity to make a lasting impact in children's lives and support underserved communities Physical Requirements • Ability to lift, carry, position, and transfer children up to 50+ pounds, • Ability to sit on the floor, kneel, squat, bend, reach, and move dynamically during therapy sessions, • Ability to demonstrate and participate in physical activities and exercises with children, • Ability to drive and travel to multiple patient homes daily throughout the DFW area, • Ability to carry therapy equipment and materials to patient homes, • Physical stamina for an active, movement-based role Schedule • [Full-time: Monday-Friday, flexible hours between 8 AM - 6 PM, • [Part-time: Flexible days and hours available], • Home visit scheduling with consideration for therapist and family preferences, • Documentation time available during business hours To Apply: Please submit your resume, cover letter, and copies of current licensure to: April Joiner 972-349-1313 Ext. 703 We look forward to hearing from therapists who are passionate about pediatric care and committed to helping children move, play, and thrive!
