Job DescriptionSalary: About Boston Prep Boston Prep is a college-preparatory charter public district, made up of a single-site middle and high school. In 2026-2027, our community will include 700 students in grades 6-12, nearly 500 alumni, over 150 faculty members, and hundreds of families. The majority of our students and families reside in Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and Hyde Park. As the Chief of Staff You will have the opportunity to lead and shape our team in order to have a high impact for our community, at large. Hours for this position are 7:15 am- 4:15 pm, Monday-Friday (in-person). Key responsibilities for this role include: • Team Management: Lead, manage, and develop members of Boston Preps back office team, including, but not limited to, Development, Communications & External Affairs, and Data., • Organizational Priorities: Support the Executive Director in ensuring that Boston Prep achieves its annual finance, development, human capital, communications & external affairs, data, and persistence goals via work plans and goal tracking., • Organizational Leadership: Serve on the Executive Leadership Team, composed of the Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer, Chief of Schools, and Chief Financial Officer, who collectively oversee all Boston Prep team members., • Board Management: Support the Executive Director in engaging the Board of Trustees toward fulfilling its fiduciary oversight responsibilities, and toward supporting the schools pursuit of its goals. Manage various team members in the preparation and delivery of all Board materials and logistics in a timely manner., • Compliance: Lead reporting, compliance, and communication with state, local, and federal government agencies, ensuring full organizational compliance with all applicable laws and regulations., • Supporting the Executive Director: Various tasks including: staff and coordinate activities of various task forces and working groups; draft correspondence and other documents; prepare talking points and/or powerpoint presentations for various occasions/audiences; stay informed on charter school/ed reform landscape to understand implications and opportunities for Boston Prep; serve as the Executive Directors external representative when they are otherwise unable to attend events., • Oversee Strategic Projects & Planning: Partner with the Executive Director and ELT to set multi-year strategic priorities aligned to the schools mission and organizational guardrails. Translate long-term strategy into clear annual goals, key performance indicators, and actionable work plans across teams. Establish systems for tracking progress, monitoring data, and adjusting strategy based on outcomes. Ensure strategic initiatives are well-scoped, resourced, and executed with fidelity, and that there is strong alignment across departments. Serve as the central driver of cross-functional strategic projects, ensuring clarity of ownership, timelines, and impact. A successful candidate • Has an unwavering belief that all students can and will succeed, • Is an unapologetic advocate on behalf of teachers, school leaders, students and families, • Has excellent written communication, strong organizational and time management skills, • Has a proven track record in proactive solution-finding and team management, • A Bachelors degree is required, • A graduate degree and/or fellowship in education, public policy, or related field is strongly preferred;, • Believes in the importance of feedback, including receiving, implementing and providing compassionate feedback, • Technologically savvy in Office Suite programs, Google Suite programs and parallel educational programs, • Is able to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment that may be unpredictable at times, • Practices humility, strong work ethic and a can do attitude Compensation: The salary range for this role is $159,136 - $182,570.
