Job Description Senior Product Manager – Product Development & Strategy Newark, NJ, Full-Time-Onsite $200,000 Description / Position Overview The company is looking for a senior product leader to strengthen product strategy across an evolving portfolio of interior and home-related products. This role exists because the business needs stronger ownership around market positioning, category strategy, roadmap direction, and new product development. The right person will understand both the market and the product deeply — identifying trends early, evaluating gaps in the portfolio, and helping shape products that are commercially viable, manufacturable, and aligned with customer demand. This is not a pure project management role. The execution and coordination teams already exist. This role owns the strategic side of product development: • market intelligence, • category direction, • roadmap ownership, • go-to-market strategy, • product positioning, • portfolio decisions The ideal candidate understands how products succeed in real physical-product environments and can connect customer demand, market trends, manufacturing realities, and business outcomes into a cohesive product strategy. What You'll Own • Own product strategy and roadmap direction for assigned categories, • Identify market opportunities, competitive gaps, and category growth areas, • Translate trends and customer insights into actionable product decisions, • Develop new product concepts aligned with business priorities and market demand, • Build product positioning and go-to-market strategies with Sales and Marketing, • Drive product lifecycle decisions across existing and future product lines, • Partner with Sourcing, Operations, and Manufacturing to ensure product feasibility, • Define strategic product requirements before transition to project execution teams, • Influence category prioritization, portfolio decisions, and long-term product direction, • Monitor product performance and adjust strategy based on market feedback and results Success Metrics Success in this role looks like: • Stronger product-market alignment across assigned categories, • Successful launch of commercially viable new products, • Improved category growth and product adoption, • Faster identification of market opportunities and competitive gaps, • Clearer roadmap prioritization and portfolio discipline, • Strong cross-functional alignment between Product, Sales, Marketing, and Operations, • Higher-performing product categories based on market response and revenue contribution, • Improved go-to-market execution and positioning clarity Requirements • Proven experience in product management, product strategy, or product development within physical products, • Experience owning products from concept through launch, • Strong experience conducting market analysis and competitive research, • Experience building product roadmaps and category strategies, • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, • Experience working cross-functionally with commercial and operational teams, • Strong communication and stakeholder management capability, • Experience in cabinetry, kitchen & bath, furniture, interiors, building materials, flooring, surfaces, or adjacent industries strongly preferred, • Experience in manufacturing-driven product environments strongly preferred, • Ability to evaluate both customer demand and operational feasibility in product decisions Must-Haves • Physical product strategy experience, • Product roadmap ownership experience, • Market analysis and category strategy capability, • Cross-functional product leadership experience, • Product launch ownership experience, • Experience in interiors, home products, cabinetry, furniture, building materials, or adjacent categories preferred, • Strong commercial and strategic thinking capability, • Ability to operate in fast-moving environments with high ownership Final Invitation to Apply If you've successfully built, positioned, and grown physical product categories — and understand how to connect market demand, product strategy, and execution into real business outcomes — this is a high-impact opportunity to help shape the future direction of a growing product organization.
