POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking a reliable, polished, detail-oriented, and hospitality-driven Runner to join the Moss New York team with Compass Group. Runners play a vital role in supporting the flow, timing, and overall execution of service by delivering food efficiently, accurately, and with care. This role is essential to maintaining a refined and seamless dining experience, ensuring that every dish reaches the guest at the proper temperature, presentation, and pace. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced fine dining environment, takes pride in precision and teamwork, and understands that exceptional hospitality is built through consistency, coordination, and attention to detail. COMPENSATION: The hourly wage for this position is $15.00 per hour with tips. Training wage during the orientation period is $17.00 per hour. CLASSIFICATION: This is a non-exempt, hourly position. In accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), you are eligible for overtime pay at one and a half times your regular rate for all hours worked over 40 in a single workweek. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for a working knowledge of every dish taken to any guest, • Helps and anticipates the needs of any fellow staff member or guest at any time, • Communicate to the expediter any immediate service requests or concerns that occur in the dining room, • Prepare along with the expediter for each service, assisting in maintaining the napkin/paper stock, • Participate in the necessary cleanliness of the dining room and respective workstations, • To adhere to the hours of work/shift system. To be punctual, to arrive in the restaurant at the appropriate time., • Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and presentation. To arrive on duty always wearing the correct uniform., • Do all necessary cleaning duties, • Basic knowledge of the menu, to be able to easily recognise all dishes from the menu., • Basic wine knowledge through training with the Sommelier team, • To always smile and be attentive and professional, • Immediately inform a Server or Manager of any guest complaints or comments., • Attend all menu knowledge training and relevant briefing sessions., • To carry food from the kitchen to the correct table in an efficient but careful manner, • Know the set-up of the restaurant and the flow of service., • Comply with and fully understand food safety, health & safety, fire equipment and fire training., • Comply with any reasonable instruction from teammates and to always work towards achieving the highest possible standards.QUALIFICATIONS:, • Minimum of 2+ years serving experience in a high-volume, service-driven restaurant environment; upscale or chef-driven concepts preferred., • Flexible availability for AM and PM shifts, including weekends., • Strong teamwork, professionalism, and a hospitality-first mindset with excellent communication skills., • Genuine interest in seasonal, ingredient-driven cuisine with a willingness to expand culinary and beverage knowledge., • Working knowledge of classic cocktails, foundational wine varietals, and beer styles; fine-dining or craft beverage experience a plus., • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and composure.EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:, • Medical insurance, • Vision insurance, • Dental insurance, • 401(k), • Pre-Tax Commuter benefits, • Disability insurance Compass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
