Job Description GOODWILL GREATER NEW YORK AND NORTHERN NEW JERSEY Position Title: Career Services Manager - Workforce 1 Location: 400 E. We’re on the hunt for our next Career Services Manager. The Career Services Manager (CSM) serves as the point person for overseeing and coordinating career development services and initiatives within the Workforce1 Career Center. The Awesome Things You’ll Do • Oversee the assigned team of Career Advisors across the three Bronx Workforce1 Career Centers., • Ensure that quality service is provided to identify, engage, assess and support clients in need of career development and support in order to achieve employment outcomes., • Explain and interpret funder rules, regulations, policies and procedures for staff. • Interpret performance data and set achievable outcomes for their teams and to pivot when there are issues., • Manage the day-to-day functions of the career services division to ensure that career services are effectively serving customers and stakeholders. • Develop and/or modify work plans, methodologies, and procedures; determine work priorities and develop work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and completion of work., • Provide work instruction and assist career advisors with difficult and/or unusual assignments., • Ensure career advisors that are adequately trained on the tools, processes and tasks needed to achieve performance metrics., • Set performance goals for career advisor in alignment with achieving 3100 placements annually; including goals for outreach, engagement, workshops, trainings, assessments and re-engagement. Our Must Haves -B.A. or B.S. degree required along with at least one to two years’ experience providing career navigation, case management, vocational counseling, or employment services. • At least 3 years’ experience in a leadership role, preferably in career services, human resources, or related fields., • Experience managing and motivating teams, setting goals, and providing guidance and support to team members., • In-depth knowledge of career development theories, job market trends, and employment strategies., • Excellent communication skills: communicate clearly, listen actively, and convey information and feedback effectively. among team members., • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, employers, alumni, and other stakeholders., • Experience in program development and implementation to meet the career services goals of the organization., • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is essential for report generation and data analysis., • Prior experience preferred in working with individuals receiving public assistance, Veterans, people with disabilities and older populations., • An understanding of the special needs of an economically and socially disadvantaged population., • Superior oral and written communication skills., • Proven ability to work with diverse populations., • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including active and reflective listening, motivational interviewing, authentic communication, and conflict resolution., • Highly effective problem-solving and follow up skills., • Ability to focus deadlines and details., • Excellent networking skills., • Record-keeping, case noting, HIPAA compliance, and maintaining confidentiality.
