We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Full-Time, Medical Receptionist 1 at Teaneck Gastroenterology Associates of NJ in Teaneck, NJ. Responsibilities: • Greet and check in patients upon arrival, verifying personal and insurance information accurately., • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems., • Answer incoming calls promptly, addressing patient inquiries, directing calls to appropriate personnel, and providing general information about services., • Maintain and update patient records in compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA., • Collect co-payments and process billing information as required., • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely patient flow and communicate any delays or changes effectively., • Manage office supplies and maintain a clean, organized reception area. The Medical Receptionist 1 utilizes strong organizational skills daily to manage appointment schedules and patient records efficiently, ensuring smooth clinic operations. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives, facilitating clear and compassionate exchanges. Proficiency with EHR software and basic computer applications enables accurate data entry and retrieval, supporting clinical and administrative workflows. Problem-solving skills help address scheduling conflicts and patient concerns promptly, maintaining a positive patient experience. Additionally, attention to detail and discretion are critical in handling confidential information and processing billing accurately, upholding compliance with healthcare regulations. Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent., • Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting., • Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish or other commonly spoken languages in the United States., • Basic proficiency with computer systems and electronic health record (EHR) software., • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written., • Certification as a Medical Receptionist or Medical Administrative Assistant., • Experience with specific EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech., • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare billing procedures., • Familiarity with insurance verification and authorization processes.
