Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Shop Lead (2nd Shift) position will perform and oversee a variety of mechanical operations / tasks on turbomachinery components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements. Essential Functions: • Provide oversight and leadership to all craft workers during 2nd shift including Balance, Machining, Mechanic, and Welding, • Provide concise hand-over notes to 1st shift highlighting status, issues, and opportunities., • Gives guidance and has ability to disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble RMS and non-OEM turbomachinery including compressors (centrifugal, liquid ring, etc.), gearboxes, pumps, turbines, etc., • Ensures that shipments and deliveries are made without issue, and at times will be mainly responsible to offload oversize goods using overhead crane or large forklift. Responsible for maintenance of all shipping paperwork during shift., • Able to inspect and record measurements of component parts to customer, OEM and industry standard specifications using a variety of precision measuring instruments, tools and gages., • Basic understanding of dynamic balancing equipment and how to build & balance various rotating elements., • Basic understanding of various machine tool setups and operation, • Coordinates material movements between work areas and with shipping / receiving., • Notifies Quality and Production Leadership in the event of non-conformity and drives for speedy resolution., • Analyzes and understands present and future workload / capacity and can re-prioritize / redirect work as needed., • Maintain a safe working environment and a commitment to safety excellence., • Responsible for understanding and driving adherence to safety policy, procedures, and instructions., • Leads group in maintaining a clean and organized work area. Position Overview The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of welded structures by visually inspecting welds, verifying compliance with codes and standards, and documenting findings, ultimately safeguarding structural integrity and preventing potential hazards. Key Responsibilities: Inspection and Verification: Conduct visual inspections of all welds and materials to ensure they meet customer and industry standards, specifications and/or AWS codes. Examine inspection records to determine inspection schedule and remedial actions conform with procedures and regulations. Witness and monitor work activities, inspections, and testing in accordance with approved quality plans, site surveillance plans, Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs), procedures and processes. Summary This position is primarily responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical circuits, power distribution, furnace instrumentation and controls mechanical and hydraulic equipment, machine tools, saws, forging and heat treat furnace equipment, closed die forging presses, manipulators & CNC machine mechanical issues with minimal supervision. In addition, this position is responsible for performing upgrade installation of new equipment as well as preventative and corrective maintenance to improve operational uptime and equipment life. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform a variety of maintenance, repair and continuous improvement functions on various plant equipment with limited direction and guidance. Support manufacturing operations in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion. Safely, professionally and efficiently, complete machine repairs and rebuilds per line-up and documentation. Qualified candidates must have experience maintaining and troubleshooting heavy forging presses, manipulators, furnace combustion components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components like pumps, compressor, directional, servo and proportional valves, heat exchangers, filters and cooling tower equipment. Basic electrical knowledge for safe working with various industrial equipment is a must.
