Job Description Organize and implement all aspects and technical portions of core and supplemental underage drinking and drunk driving prevention programs for targeted populations at the State and Local level. Responsible for all program administration including regular liaison and reporting, achievement of established performance objectives, development of programs to achieve objectives and adherence to all program and/or grant policies and guidelines. This is a remote, work from home position, which will require 50% travel in the local community, availability during weekday morning/afternoon working hours and occasional weekends. The selected candidate must reside in the general Long Island, NY area with an understanding that some travel within the New York City Metropolitan area might occur. The individual hired will need to have reliable personal transportation as they will oversee initiatives within the following counties on Long Island: Suffolk and Nassau which would be 80% of their time within this role, as well as the five boroughs of New York City: Queens, Kings (Brooklyn), Richmond (Staten Island), Manhattan, & the Bronx which would be 20% of their time within this role. POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Peer Mentor (SPM) for our Harm Reduction Services conducts outreach to drug using populations to engage persons in services, provides individual education to reduce health-related harm from injection and other drug use, facilitates enrollment in Opioid Use Disorder Medicated Assisted Treatment programs when desired, conducts sterile syringe exchange, trains on opioid overdose reversal, and facilitates HIV and Hepatitis C (HCV) counseling and testing. The Supervising Attorney will oversee our Housing and Benefits practice to provide cutting-edge eviction defense and housing quality enforcement in aggressively gentrifying neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Queens. The Housing and Benefits legal team collaborates closely with our organizing team to focus on anti-harassment and prevention of displacement around our neighborhood offices in Bushwick. The Supervising Attorney will provide policy and campaign support on the areas of housing and public benefits. The Supervising Attorney will also have a small docket of housing cases representing both individuals and groups of tenants in enforcing their rights and fighting tenant harassment.
