Position Details: We are currently seeking an experienced healthcare professional to join our Arcadia site's Hormone Laboratory team in guiding and supporting our prospective, new, and current patients across the organization. The Phlebotomy Laboratory Technician will be responsible for many aspects of patient experience and general business operations including patient management, prepping and rooming patients, blood draw, specimen preparation, hormone assay machine operation, medical record review, medical records and required testing compliance, among a variety of others. This role plays a crucial part in helping parents on their fertility journeys. Benefits: • Health, dental, and vision insurance plans, • Paid time off and sick days, • Employee life insurance, • 401K plans with employer contribution for tenured employees, • Exclusive employee discounts for fertility services, • Company trips, events, activities, and banquets, • Leadership and development opportunities Qualifications: • 1+ year experience as a Phlebotomist, Phlebotomy Technician, Phlebotomy Laboratory Scientist or Laboratory Technician; alternative titles include Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technician, • California Phlebotomy License (CPT1) is required, • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a Biology or a related science is optional but strongly preferred, • Experience in Hormone Assay, analysis, and/or familiarity with TOSOH equipment is a strong plus, • Fluency in languages beyond English, particularly Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, or other Chinese dialects strongly preferred, • Warm bedside manner and comfort communicating with patients is critical, • Familiarity with EMR software and patient scheduling is a plus, • Applicants demonstrating a track record of longer tenures in previous roles will be given preference., • Local to the Arcadia/San Gabriel Valley area for interview, evaluation period Responsibilities: • Specimen Collection: Perform venipuncture on IVF patients to collect blood samples for hormone assays, ensuring minimal patient discomfort and adherence to clinical protocols., • Patient Verification: Confirm patient identity and cross-check requisition forms to ensure proper specimen labeling and accurate record keeping., • Specimen Handling: Label and store specimens appropriately; maintain the chain-of-custody and ensure specimens are transported to the laboratory under proper conditions., • Equipment Use and Maintenance: Operate and maintain phlebotomy and hormone assay equipment; perform routine cleaning and calibration as per standard operating procedures., • Documentation: Accurately document all sample collections, including time, date, and any patient-specific notes, in compliance with laboratory and regulatory standards., • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with departments to enhance medical practice standards, resolve patient issues, and contribute to improvements in patient care and satisfaction. Work Schedule: • Clinic is open Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM with some Saturdays, • 8-hour work shifts + 30-minute lunch breaks, • Coverage includes some Saturdays; if working Saturday, may take off a Tuesday, Friday, etc., • No call or overnight / late night shifts Candidate Traits: • Meticulous in processing complex medical records with strong attention to detail., • Warm, friendly, and encouraging to sensitive patients., • Passionate about helping patients and supporting healthcare efforts., • Excellent verbal communication with compassion, professionalism, and courtesy., • Proactive team player, quick to adapt, and eager to make positive changes.
