Job Description The Medical Policy and Readiness Analyst provides comprehensive medical planning, policy, and readiness support to the MARCENT Force Surgeon Directorate and Operationally Controlled (OPCON) Forces, ensuring the effective integration of medical programs into operational planning and force health protection initiatives. This role merges clinical and policy expertise to enhance medical readiness, execute health service support plans, and maintain compliance with DoD and USMC medical standards. The analyst coordinates between MARCENT, deployed medical providers, and joint/coalition partners to synchronize health service support, disease surveillance, and medical readiness reporting across the CENTCOM AOR. By leveraging experience in clinical practice, deployment health, trauma and emergency medicine, and medical policy development, the Medical Policy and Readiness Analyst strengthens MARCENT’s ability to protect force health, support contingency operations, and align medical programs with strategic and operational objectives. Responsibilities/Duties: • Develop, review, and update medical policy plans and integrate health service support into MARCENT and CENTCOM operations., • Coordinate medical readiness and case tracking for MARCENT OPCON forces and deployed units., • Conduct and evaluate medical readiness exams, ensuring compliance with DoD and USMC medical guidelines., • Support development of medical annexes (Annex Q) to OPLANs and CONPLANs., • Manage disease surveillance, risk assessments, and reporting related to deployed personnel health., • Draft and update casualty evacuation (CASEVAC/MEDEVAC) and deployment health policies., • Serve as liaison between MARCENT staff, operational units, and supporting medical providers., • Support integration of TRICARE and theater medical processes into operational medical planning., • Conduct medical support assessments, audits, and inspections to verify readiness compliance., • Provide analytical support to medical planners during exercises, deployments, and contingency operations., • Coordinate with joint, coalition, and host-nation partners on medical support integration and interoperability. Supplemental Duties: • Maintain clinical privileges at the 6th Medical Group Medical Clinic (MacDill AFB) to support readiness exams and evaluations., • Assist in training staff on health policy, medical readiness, and preventive medicine procedures., • Support after-action reviews (AARs) and contribute to lessons learned for medical readiness and operational health programs., • Develop and maintain SOPs for health service support, medical policy planning, and deployed medical coordination. Administrative Duties: • Maintain accurate and compliant records of medical readiness exams, case management, and disease surveillance., • Archive medical policies, annexes, and readiness documentation according to DoD and MARCENT records management standards. Education/Experience/Qualification: • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an ARC-PA accredited PA program, or a Medical Degree (MD/DO) required., • CME/PA/MD certification required and current., • 7–10 years of relevant experience in clinical practice, military medical policy, or health service support., • Experience in medical readiness, deployment health, and field/tactical medicine., • Background in trauma, emergency medicine, and preventive health programs., • Proven experience developing and executing DoD/USMC medical policy and planning documentation., • Secret clearance required. Additional Skills: • Ability to conduct and evaluate medical readiness exams and analyze readiness metrics., • Proficiency in medical tracking systems and disease surveillance platforms., • Strong understanding of DoD/USMC medical policy frameworks, TRICARE processes, and deployment health standards., • Demonstrated skills in health service support planning and medical annex development., • Excellent communication and coordination skills for interfacing with senior leaders, medical personnel, and joint partners., • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and medical planning tools. Work Environment: Office and clinical environments, with responsibilities spanning headquarters, field, and operational settings. Includes direct coordination with medical professionals, operational planners, and joint/coalition medical teams. Physical Demands: Primarily office and clinical work; may include physical activity associated with medical readiness inspections, health assessments, or exercise participation. Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 0800–1600). Flexibility may be required for exercises, readiness events, or deployment-related support. License and Other Requirements: • Maintain clinical privileges at the 6th Medical Group Medical Clinic (MacDill AFB)., • Valid U.S. Driver’s License and eligibility for issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC). Security Clearance: Secret clearance required. Travel: May include CONUS and OCONUS travel to support deployed units, medical readiness inspections, and regional health support coordination.
