American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Yakima, Washington. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 04/20/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 20, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Work in the ACU/CCU unit of a 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 20 ICU beds, • Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, CVA overflow, post-cath patients, and select surgical patients (vascular, abdominal, GI), • Procedures and skills include chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, monitoring femoral arterial sheaths, and blood product administration, • Common drips include diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitroglycerin, and heparin; BiPAP management also required, • Preferred experience with arterial lines, Impella, and/or IABP, • EMR: Epic experience required, • 12-hour night shifts, 1900–0730 (36 hours/week), • Every other weekend rotation required, • No on-call responsibilities, • Floating required to Tele, Telemetry 2EW, Med-Surg, and Neurology-Medical unitsRequirements, • Active WA state RN license or compact RN license (pending license with proof of application accepted), • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS, • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, • Candidates must have completed at least one prior travel assignment; first-time travelers will not be considered, • Proficiency with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral arterial sheath monitoring, • Epic EMR experience required, • At least one supervisor-level reference (charge nurse, manager, director, or above) required for consideration; a second reference will be needed prior to startAdditional Information, • Candidate will monitor post-cath patients including TR bands and femoral sheath patients; travelers will not pull femoral sheaths, • Clinical interview via SimpliFi required, followed by unit final approval With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
