Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician supports a busy aerospace manufacturing and machine shop environment by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of machinery and facility equipment. This role uses a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan, document, and complete work, while ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Depending on experience, the position ranges from helper to senior technician, with clear growth paths into CNC maintenance and potential leadership responsibilities. Responsibilities • Complete all assigned scheduled preventive maintenance tasks within established deadlines., • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to receive, track, and document maintenance activities., • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at all times., • Follow all mandated safe work practices, standards, and procedures, as well as all Quality Management System (QMS) procedures., • Ensure strict adherence to relevant federal and local safety and productivity guidelines, including OSHA, L&I, and other applicable regulations., • Perform periodic maintenance on equipment and machinery according to recommended service schedules throughout the life of the equipment., • Troubleshoot common issues with production equipment and assist operators in returning machinery to productive operation., • Repair machines efficiently to minimize downtime and support production schedules., • Evaluate workspace and production floor safety to ensure proper use of equipment and compliance with safety guidelines., • Carry out a variety of maintenance tasks on machinery and facilities, including plumbing, electrical work, heating and air conditioning, and other tasks as required by project scope., • Maintain a clean and organized work area while performing maintenance, repair, or installation tasks., • Serve as a point of reference for the department at senior levels, providing guidance and direction to other employees during task execution., • Actively contribute to maintaining and improving documentation, procedures, and the overall work environment., • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for maintenance and repair tasks., • Support general building and industrial maintenance as needed in a large machinery and equipment manufacturing setting.Essential Skills, • High school diploma or GED required for entry-level helper roles., • Basic mathematical skills and the ability to read a tape measure., • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use basic hand tools., • Valid state driver’s license in good standing., • Ability to adapt, remain tactful, and work self-directed in tight deadlines and fluid environments., • Basic oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English., • Demonstrated reliability with a strong record of excellent attendance., • Commitment to conduct oneself with high levels of professionalism and ethical standards., • Ability to work in a machine shop environment while standing for up to 8 hours per day., • Ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull heavy objects of 50 pounds or more., • Four or more years of experience working in equipment maintenance for Technician-level roles., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, proactively contributing ideas to improve operations., • Strong knowledge of skilled trades such as HVAC, electrical, or carpentry for higher-tier roles., • Proven understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components., • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)., • Experience troubleshooting 5-axis CNC machines, including alignment checks and leveling for senior technician roles., • Experience working with Fanuc CNC controls for senior technician roles., • Experience working with Siemens or Fidia CNC controls for senior technician roles., • Experience with Renishaw calibration software and devices, including laser and ballbar systems, for senior technician roles.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • General assistant experience in a large machinery or equipment manufacturing environment is a plus., • Forklift experience is a plus., • Overhead crane experience is a plus., • Industrial maintenance and building maintenance experience are beneficial., • Experience with troubleshooting and repair in an aerospace or precision machining environment is advantageous., • Interest and drive to grow into a CNC Maintenance Technician role are highly preferred., • Ability to act as a departmental reference point and mentor for less experienced technicians at senior levels.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in an aerospace manufacturing and machine shop environment, working around machinery, moving parts, and production equipment. The position involves moderate walking, standing, lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout the shift, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Safety glasses are provided and required while working in production areas. The work is performed on-site in a hands-on setting, using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment to support industrial and building systems. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Auburn, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
