Job Description Summary: The Associate Director Foundation & Government Support is a senior member of Safe Horizon’s 5-person grants team within the Development and Communications department. The Associate Director will have deep knowledge of and experience with securing grants from government funders at the federal, state, and city levels and some experience securing funding from private foundations. They will be experienced in handling all aspects of proposal development, submission and grant reporting in collaboration with Program, Finance, Research and Evaluation and other departments. They will ensure timely and accurate planning, design, production and submission of proposals and grant reports. They will research funders, funding opportunities and advise on funder engagement and stewardship strategies. The Associate Director will be an experienced frontline fundraiser with 5 years of experience in grant writing and cultivating relationships with funders, particularly from government sources.
