What You'll Do Role Overview The Vice President of Operational Strategy & Processes is an enterprise leader responsible for designing, governing, and scaling operational processes that enable consistent execution, strong performance, and sustainable growth across the multifamily portfolio reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Operations. This role serves as the architect and owner of operational process design, ensuring that standards, systems, and capabilities translate strategy into measurable on-site results. This leader bridges strategy and execution by aligning operational standards, systems, data, and learning into a cohesive operating model. The VP partners closely with Community Operations, Technology, Marketing, and Accounting to ensure operational readiness, scalability, and continuous improvement across a geographically diverse portfolio. Operational Strategy & Governance • Own the design and governance of the enterprise operating model, ensuring clarity, consistency, and scalability across communities., • Translate business strategy into standardized, executable processes that drive portfolio performance and operational excellence., • Establish and maintain clear operational standards, SOPs, and best practices, ensuring adoption and accountability., • Serve as executive owner for process prioritization, sequencing, and enterprise change management.Processes & Continuous Improvement, • Lead process mapping, redesign, and optimization initiatives., • Identify systemic operational gaps and partner with leadership to implement scalable solutions., • Oversee diagnostics and improvement initiatives tied to occupancy, NOI, service delivery, and expense control., • Establish routines and feedback loops to support continuous improvement.Systems & Technology Enablement, • Serve as senior leadership operational owner for PMS, CRM, revenue management, and business intelligence platforms., • Ensure system workflows align with operational standards and user-centered execution., • Partner with It and Support Services on system strategy, enhancements, and implementations., • Champion data visibility and analytics to support enterprise decision-making.Operational Readiness & Portfolio Transitions, • Oversee operational readiness frameworks for new developments, acquisitions, and transitions., • Ensure consistent execution of support during lease-ups and stabilization., • Align systems, processes, and training to enable seamless transitions.Learning, Capability & Performance Enablement, • Set strategic direction for operational learning and capability development., • Ensure role-based training support has consistent execution., • Partner with L&D leadership to close operational capability gaps., • Evaluate training effectiveness and drive continuous optimization.Cross-Functional Executive Leadership, • Act as a strategic partner to Operations, Technology, Marketing, Accounting, and Resident Experience., • Represent operational needs in enterprise initiatives and executive decisions., • Influence across functions to ensure alignment between strategy, systems, and execution., • Lead through influence, building trust across diverse stakeholder groups.Qualifications, • Bachelor’s degree required, • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in multifamily operations or operational strategy., • Deep expertise in multifamily operations, systems, workflows, and performance drivers., • Proven success leading enterprise-scale processes and systems initiatives., • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and change management capabilities., • Ability to travel as needed
