University Dean of Admissions & Recruitment POSITION DETAILS The City University of New York (CUNY) is the nation's largest urban public university system, comprising 26 campuses: eleven senior colleges, seven community colleges, one undergraduate honors college, and six postgraduate institutions spread across New York City's five boroughs. The Office of Enrollment Management (EM) at the Central Office seeks an experienced Higher Education professional to serve as the University Dean of Admissions and Recruitment (UD-AR), a system-level leader who will modernize admissions and oversee university-wide strategy, policy, platforms, operations, and partnerships to create a fair, fast, student-focused experience. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, under the Office of Enrollment Management, an integral part of the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA), the UD-AR will be responsible for leading the University's central admissions strategy and operations for the enrollment of new undergraduate and graduate students. The UD-AR will oversee units including Admissions Systems, Undergraduate and Graduate Recruitment, and the Welcome Center, with an annual operating budget of approximately $6M. The candidate will support the University's strategic planning, improve admissions and student services, and foster a culture of excellence in student support. The UD-AR will be knowledgeable about the changing landscape of higher education, modernized high-impact admission practices, and will serve as CUNY's chief system admissions officer, reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management and advancing CUNY's mission and the 2023-2030 Strategic Roadmap. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: + Lead and mentor a high-performing, inclusive central admissions team with clear goals and performance measures. + Foster a culture of transparency, data-driven decision making, and continuous service improvement across campuses. + Strengthen leadership capacity through shared training, communities of practice, and cross-campus collaboration. + Serve as a key member of OEM and OAA leadership teams, aligning admissions strategy with academic planning and student success goals. + Establish and oversee a systemwide admissions service charter focused on timeliness, equity, accessibility, and communication standards. + Ensure admissions policies, processes, and communications remain student-centered, fair, and consistent across applicant groups. + Partner with Marketing & Communications to develop targeted, multi-channel recruitment campaigns and outreach materials. + Maintain strong relationships with NYSED, NYC Public Schools, elected officials, and professional associations to advance recruitment and policy initiatives. + Collaborate with internal partners, including Advancement, Government Affairs, and campus leaders, to support enrollment strategies. + Oversee budgets, procurement, staffing plans, and large-scale change management in a unionized, multi-stakeholder environment. + Lead development of dashboards and predictive analytics to support data-informed decision-making across the admissions funnel. + Manage risk and audit readiness through strong privacy practices, fraud prevention, identity verification, and records management. + Direct recruitment and admissions operations for first-year, transfer, international, graduate, adult, and non-degree student populations. + Govern admissions platforms, including application processing, CRM systems, AI-enabled tools, and communication technologies. + Partner with CIS to optimize systems, integrations, and workflows, ensuring a seamless, accessible experience for students and staff. NOTE: Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum: This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. Essential Duties * Assist the Advancement Department in all areas including fundraising, donor relations, marketing, and volunteer coordination; * Assist with donor prospect research utilizing Veracross software and online resources; * Coordinate a variety of donor mailings, including invitations and newsletters; * Prepare reports, memos, forms, correspondence and presentations when needed; * Attend and takes minute at Development Committee meetings and distribute the minutes promptly; * Order materials, supplies, and equipment upon approval of the Director of Advancement and Marketing; * Maintain accurate and detailed calendar of advancement events, due dates, and schedules; * Maintain database by updating contact information, professional titles, meeting notes and actions, and relationship links for all constituents, including donors, alumni, and volunteers, in Veracross with a high degree of accuracy; * Generate, personalize, and mail timely gift acknowledgement letters and tax receipts (typically within 48–72 hours of receipt); * Create and maintain tracking systems (i.e. campaigns, funds and appeals used for gift entry), spreadsheets, and databases to support Advancement Office activities and assigned projects; * Track guest attendance for special events in Veracross; * Receive and process confidential and sensitive information with discretion and in accordance with established guidelines or legal standards; * File electronic and/or hard copies of correspondence and donations; * Assist prospect screening, research, and segmentation; * Accurately record all charitable contributions (cash, checks, credit cards, stocks, and matching gifts) into the Veracross database; * Collaborate with the Business Office to ensure all gifts are coded correctly and reconcile monthly development reports with the general ledger; * Prepare and provides daily and weekly financial and statistical reports for the Advancement Office; * Prepare and provide monthly and year-end fiscal reports to the Business Office and auditors; * Support all planning and logistics for Advancement Office meetings and events; partner with internal and external vendors for catering and decor as needed; manage RSVPs; prepare meeting/event materials; assist with on-site logistics and handle any other event-related tasks as directed by the Director of Advancement; * Serve as one of the primary, outward-facing representatives of the ISB Advancement team to current students and families; grandparents, alumni families; * Manage the school store online platform and inventory; * Pursue professional development opportunities as appropriate to remain current with best practices; and * Perform other related projects and duties as needed and assigned. Program Description: The NYC Breastfeeding Warmline was established in June of 2020 and specializes in providing free, virtual, language congruent, culturally respectful, lactation support to all families across the New York City. The program has since expanded to include the Queens Baby Café, free drop-in lactation clinics, in Corona and Jamaica, Queens, and is looking to expand further with additional virtual lactation support programs. Summary of Position: Public Health Solutions is seeking a compassionate, motivated, Spanish-speaking Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) to join our team in a part-time position in providing virtual lactation support to families throughout NYC. This role is essential for expanding access to breastfeeding support and requires a commitment to community engagement, advocacy, and education. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in lactation counseling and be prepared to take the next step in their career by working toward the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential, with an expectation to pass the IBCLC exam within 18 months of hire. This position reports to the Program Manager. Specifically the, Certified Lactation Counselor will: • Provide Virtual Lactation Counseling: Deliver high-quality, evidence-based virtual lactation support to families, addressing common breastfeeding challenges, providing guidance on infant feeding techniques, and offering resources tailored to each family's needs., • Community outreach: Develop and nurture relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other key stakeholders to promote the program and increase awareness of available lactation support services., • Deliver in-person support & be required to travel: While the position is primarily virtual, occasional in-person support will be required, including traveling to various locations across NYC boroughs to conduct outreach, attend community events, and provide in-person lactation support as needed., • Education & Workshop Facilitation: Support and co-lead prenatal and postnatal breastfeeding education workshops for families, both virtually and in hybrid formats., • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of client interactions and interventions in compliance with privacy regulations and organizational standards., • Required Certification: Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) or Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS), • Multilingual Required: Spanish, English, • 1-2 years of experience in lactation counseling preferred, ideally within diverse urban communities., • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional relevant education is a plus., • Commitment to IBCLC Pathway: Must be actively pursuing IBCLC certification, with the expectation to pass the IBCLC exam within 18 months of hire., • Proficient in virtual communication tools (e.g., Zoom) and documentation platforms., • Willingness to travel throughout NYC as necessary for community outreach and in-person support., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a culturally responsive approach to serving diverse communities., • Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team mindset., • Passionate about breastfeeding support and committed to fostering a supportive, empowering environment for families., • Hybrid Work Schedule., • Generous Paid Time Off and Holidays., • An attractive and comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental and Vision., • Flexible Spending Accounts and Commuter Benefits., • Company Paid Life Insurance and Disability Coverage., • 403 (b) + employer matching and discretionary company contributions., • College Savings Plan., • Ongoing training and continuous opportunities for professional growth and development.
