Job DescriptionJob Title: Materials Handler Job Description This role focuses on handling materials in a clean, climate-controlled warehouse environment, supporting manufacturing operations by managing inventory, preparing shipments, and using computer systems to process purchase and sales orders. You will work closely with a small team to ensure accurate receiving, storage, kitting, and shipping of materials using carriers such as FedEx and UPS. Responsibilities • Receive shipped materials by safely removing items from delivery vehicles and bringing them into the warehouse., • Examine receiving documents to determine the correct storage destination for incoming materials., • Store materials in designated locations and maintain organized inventory within the warehouse and cleanroom-adjacent areas., • Pull stored materials based on work orders, purchase orders, or sales orders and move them to production or shipping areas., • Prepare orders for shipment by setting up shipments via computer systems and arranging delivery through carriers such as FedEx and UPS., • Use an ERP or other computer system to locate inventory, process purchase orders and sales orders, and maintain accurate records., • Document information related to the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials to support traceability and inventory accuracy., • Perform stocking and kitting activities to ensure production teams have the correct materials ready when needed., • Follow cleanroom-adjacent procedures, including appropriate attire when entering controlled areas such as air lock rooms., • Collaborate with a team of material handlers and follow direction from supervisors to meet daily workload and shipping schedules., • Support occasional weekend or extended-hour work as needed to meet production and shipping demands.Essential Skills, • 1–2+ years of experience in shipping and receiving within a manufacturing environment., • 1–2+ years of experience setting up shipments using a computer system, including entering shipment details and printing shipping labels., • Hands-on experience preparing shipments through carriers such as FedEx and UPS., • Familiarity with purchase orders and sales orders, including how they are used to process and track shipments., • Basic computer skills and experience using an ERP or similar system for inventory, shipping, and order processing., • Experience working in a warehouse or production environment handling materials, inventory, or shipping tasks., • Ability to work under direct supervision while following established procedures and safety guidelines., • Strong attention to detail when reviewing documents and entering data into computer systems., • Comfort working in and around cleanroom-adjacent areas with specific attire requirements.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • 3–4 years of experience working as a material handler in a warehouse or production facility, focusing on inventory, stocking, and kitting., • Experience setting up and managing shipments specifically with FedEx and UPS systems., • Familiarity with Oracle or similar ERP systems; Oracle experience is a plus but not required, as training is provided., • Previous experience working in a small team environment within a warehouse., • Comfort working with retention and performance goals in a contract-to-hire setting.Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a climate-controlled, air-conditioned warehouse environment in and around a cleanroom, as part of a material handling team of approximately five people. The atmosphere is casual, and everyday dress is relaxed; however, when entering air lock rooms or cleanroom-adjacent areas, you will occasionally wear gloves, shoe covers, and hair nets in line with cleanliness and safety requirements. The role offers both 1st shift (approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and 2nd shift (approximately 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) opportunities. Some Saturdays and occasional additional hours may be required, with many extra hours offered on a voluntary basis. You will use ERP systems, computers, and standard warehouse equipment to manage inventory, kitting, and shipping tasks in a clean, organized facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.87/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
