Job DescriptionJob Title: Production Technician Job Description As a Production Technician I, you will support the production department by assisting senior-level technicians. This role involves learning quality standards, performing hourly machine checks, and reviewing quality processes under the guidance of senior technicians. You will be responsible for packaging rolls, retrieving necessary items for production, and progressively following detailed instructions to complete tasks under close supervision. Duties include setting up machines, prioritizing routine tasks for efficiency, and troubleshooting minor production issues. The role requires adherence to safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe disposal of hazmat waste. Responsibilities • Prepare products for processing, including wrapping and labeling., • Load and unload products from equipment., • Embrace continuous improvement practices., • Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead, Supervisor, or designee., • Move and lift materials weighing up to approximately 55 lbs., • Check for defects on the production line and conduct hourly machine checks., • Review and understand the quality process, identifying issues with senior oversight., • Follow instructions and work under close supervision to complete tasks., • Set up and operate machines for advanced composite materials with oversight., • Escalate equipment and production issues to the Lead and/or Supervisor.Essential Skills, • Production support under close supervision., • Quality inspection and defect identification., • Basic machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting., • Material handling, packaging, and labeling., • Adherence to safety procedures and hazmat waste disposal., • Ability to follow detailed instructions and escalate issues., • Team-oriented mindset focused on continuous improvement.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent., • At least 3 months of experience with composites or production is preferred., • Strong mechanical aptitude., • Math and basic computer skills (Math test administered during interview)., • Ability to convert grams to pounds., • Clear written and verbal communication skills in English., • Ability to work as a team and maintain a neat and safe work area., • Capacity to lift up to 55 lbs., • Excellent attendance record and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and off shifts when needed.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position offers two shifts: Day Shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday, and a Swing Shift from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm with a 10% differential. The role is a 3-month contract and involves working in a production environment with opportunities for overtime and flexible scheduling. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.15/hr.
