Job Description Job Title: Service Technician Job Description The Service Technician repairs and refurbishes mobile office trailers and modular buildings, performing light carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, flooring, and painting work. HVAC experience with EPA cert is preferred. This role maintains tools and inventory, ensures units are ready for delivery, and provides courteous customer service while working independently in a fast-paced yard environment. Responsibilities • Perform repairs on mobile office trailers, including framing and finish carpentry, electrical work, flooring, plumbing, painting, running gear, and other aspects of modular building repair., • Carry out light carpentry, electrical, and HVAC tasks in accordance with company guidelines and safety standards., • Conduct system checks and routine maintenance on HVAC systems following established procedures., • Maintain proper inventory levels of equipment, tools, and parts required for service tasks, and ensure tools are in good working order., • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe at all times., • Maintain a safe work environment and consistently practice safe work habits in line with company policies., • Provide courteous customer service over the phone and in person, clearly explaining all repairs and services to customers and internal stakeholders., • Ensure trailers and modular units are fully prepared and ready for scheduled delivery dates., • Perform service-related tasks in the yard as requested, including preparation and refurbishment of modular units., • Conduct service calls within assigned branch territories as directed., • Attend bi-monthly safety meetings and actively participate in safety initiatives., • Close up multi-sectional units and ensure doors and windows are secured on idle fleet units., • Assist with ordering materials and unloading material deliveries as needed., • Operate a forklift safely and in accordance with company procedures., • Perform office maintenance and repair tasks as assigned., • Strong interest in construction and willingness to work with hand tools throughout the day., • Basic carpentry skills or aptitude, including framing and finish work on modular structures., • Basic electrical skills or aptitude related to installation, repair, and maintenance in modular units., • Basic HVAC skills or aptitude, including performing system checks and routine maintenance., • Basic plumbing skills or aptitude for repair and maintenance within modular buildings., • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively., • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks., • Good communication skills for interacting with customers, sales staff, and team members., • Some knowledge of computers for basic tasks and documentation., • EPA certification, preferably EPA Universal, is strongly preferred, particularly for HVAC-related work., • Experience in HVAC and construction is preferred., • Experience with flooring, carpet, and plywood installation or repair is an advantage., • Experience with modular building construction, installation, or refurbishment is beneficial., • Experience in yard, service technician, or maintenance roles is helpful., • Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to be trained in forklift operations. Work Environment The role is based in a clean, well-organized yard environment focused on modular office units. The team typically works on one modular unit at a time, either in a refurbished modular or in a unit designated for tool storage. Production for each modular generally takes about 30 to 35 hours, with a goal of completing approximately one unit per week depending on client needs. The position involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, and forklifts, as well as working both indoors within modular structures and outdoors in the yard. Dress and personal protective equipment should be appropriate for a construction and maintenance setting, supporting safe and efficient work throughout the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vacaville, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
