Job DescriptionJob Title: Welder Job Description This role seeks a skilled and safety-conscious Welder with strong MIG and Stick welding experience to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components according to specifications, blueprints, and welding codes. You will work with a variety of metals, ensure high-quality welds through careful setup and inspection, and contribute to a clean, organized, and collaborative shop environment. Responsibilities • Perform MIG and Stick welding on a variety of metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum., • Set up welding machines and equipment based on job requirements and material specifications., • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, shop prints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine project requirements., • Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications using visual and mechanical inspection tools., • Operate grinders, cutting torches, and other metal fabrication tools as needed to prepare and finish workpieces., • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and workstations in good working condition and report any issues promptly., • Follow all safety protocols and procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times., • Collaborate with team members, fabricators, and supervisors to ensure projects meet timelines and quality standards., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the welding shop., • Support periodic small field installs, such as gates and fence panels, as needed.Essential Skills, • Minimum of 5 years of experience in MIG and Stick welding., • Proficiency in MIG hardwire welding, with the majority of work performed using this process., • Experience with flux core welding and the ability to apply it effectively in fabrication work., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, shop prints, technical drawings, and welding symbols., • Strong understanding of welding techniques, metallurgy, and applicable safety standards such as AWS and OSHA., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various positions, including standing, kneeling, and overhead., • Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on producing high-quality welds., • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise welding and fabrication tasks., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Technical training in welding or a formal welding certification is preferred., • Experience working in a clean welding shop environment., • Comfort operating grinders, cutting torches, and other metal fabrication tools., • Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors., • Reliable, safety-focused work habits and a commitment to continuous improvement.Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work primarily in a clean welding shop environment equipped for MIG, flux core, and Stick welding, along with grinders, cutting torches, and other metal fabrication tools. The role includes periodic small field installations, such as gates and fence panels, which may involve working at customer sites or outdoor locations. The shop maintains an organized, safety-conscious setting where proper personal protective equipment is expected at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gilbert, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
