Job DescriptionJob Title: Lead Sign Installer Job Description The Lead Sign Installer safely installs, services, and removes a wide range of interior and exterior signage while coordinating field operations and mentoring junior installers. This role combines hands-on installation work with crew leadership, equipment management, and close collaboration with project managers to ensure high-quality, on-time completion of projects. The position requires strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities • Install, service, and remove interior and exterior signage, including channel letters, monument signs, pylon signs, wall graphics, and window films., • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, site surveys, and installation drawings to plan and execute installations accurately., • Operate aerial lifts, boom lifts, bucket trucks, and other specialized equipment safely and in compliance with OSHA standards., • Perform electrical connections for illuminated signage in accordance with applicable local electrical codes., • Conduct pre-installation site assessments to verify site conditions, measurements, access, and potential obstacles., • Document completed work using photos and detailed job completion reports to ensure accurate records and quality control., • Troubleshoot field issues and adjust installation methods as needed based on site conditions and unforeseen challenges., • Maintain assigned installation vehicles in a clean, organized, and road-ready condition at all times., • Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document findings to ensure safe operation., • Schedule and track preventive maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and required inspections., • Manage inventory of tools, hardware, consumables, and safety equipment to ensure crews have the resources needed for each job., • Report any vehicle damage, mechanical issues, or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate operations contact., • Ensure all vehicles comply with branding standards and applicable transportation regulations., • Onboard and train new installers on company procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards., • Provide hands-on field training covering installation techniques, power and hand tool usage, and proper material handling., • Evaluate new installers’ progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development and performance., • Mentor junior crew members to build their skills and prepare them for increased responsibility., • Communicate daily with project managers regarding job status, schedule changes, and material or equipment needs., • Review job scopes and work orders prior to dispatch to identify potential issues, missing information, or risks., • Provide accurate time and material estimates for upcoming installations to support project planning and scheduling., • Flag scope changes, change orders, or client requests encountered in the field to ensure proper documentation and approval., • Ensure all punch list items are completed and closed out before leaving the job site., • Participate in post-job reviews to capture lessons learned and recommend improvements to future workflows and processes.Essential Skills, • At least 3 years of sign installation experience with demonstrated progression in responsibility., • Proficiency installing a variety of signage types, including channel letters, monument signs, pylon signs, wall graphics, and window films., • Strong experience using power tools and hand tools in a construction or installation environment., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, work orders, and technical installation drawings., • Working knowledge of electrical systems and electrical connections for illuminated signage., • Experience operating aerial lifts, boom trucks, bucket trucks, and similar lifting equipment., • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt installation methods to changing field conditions., • Ability to measure accurately and work from precise dimensions and specifications., • Capability to lead and guide a crew in the field while maintaining high quality and safety standards., • Physical ability to lift 75+ pounds, work at heights, and perform tasks in various weather conditions., • Comfort working in a construction or field-based environment that may involve working at elevation and on different types of structures.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in a lead or supervisory installation role overseeing other installers or crew members., • Familiarity with sign manufacturing processes, materials, and fabrication methods., • Basic welding and fabrication skills to support custom installations or field modifications., • First Aid and CPR certification., • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification., • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred but not required.Why Work Here? Project schedules may require overtime and occasional weekend work to meet deadlines and accommodate client needs. The position involves daily use of power tools, hand tools, measuring equipment, and specialized lifting equipment, with a strong emphasis on following safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Loves Park, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $62400.00/yr. This is a field-based position requiring travel to job sites throughout the region. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on project schedules. Must be comfortable working at heights and in physically demanding conditions.
