RN - TELEMETRY PCU/STEPDOWN • Shift: Day, • Required: Cardiac Telemetry RN, Stepdown/PCU, • Schedule: 12 Days; 36 hours/week, every other weekend, 13 weeks, • Include: Telemetry skills checklist, • Job Summary: RN protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities; prevents illness/injury; alleviates suffering through diagnosis, treatment, and advocacy; accountable for compliance with NYS Nurse Practice Act, UHS policies, ANA Scope & Standards, Code of Ethics, Bill of Patient Rights; promotes patient-centered care., • Job Responsibilities:, • Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for assigned patients; serves as primary/accountable nurse as assigned., • Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources., • Administers medications safely per UHS policy; demonstrates pharmacology knowledge., • Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization (staffing, time management, supplies, services)., • Complies with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies., • Participates in Nursing Shared Governance, improvement initiatives, and peer review practices., • Engages in professional development, continuing education, and mandatory training., • Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice., • Provides supportive learning environment for new employees and students., • Follows all UHS Values; performs other duties as assigned., • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, • Required Experience: Cardiac tele department experience including TAVR, Watchman, Mitral clips, heart catheterizations, pre/post-op open heart, cardiac IV/PO, cardiac drips (diltiazem, amiodarone, dobutamine, lidocaine, milrinone, heparin, insulin), anticoagulants, CHF, CP, arrhythmias, NSTEMI, STEMI, PE, post-op CABG >3 days, Sepsis, PNA, Stroke, observation patients, TR band/groin management, familiarity with complications, • Skills:, • Nursing (6 months–3 years), • Management (0–3 years), • 5+ years direct patient care experience, • Collaboration, verbal & written communication, judgment/critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning/time management, problem solving, quality, reliability, safety and risk management, • Preferred Skills/Experience: Clinical nursing in acute care or ambulatory setting, • Education Required: Graduate of accredited school of Nursing, • Education Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, • Licensure/Certifications Required: Current NYS RN License, BLS; validate unit-specific compliance matrix, • Preferred Licensure/Certifications: Specialty nursing certification, ACLS, PALS, TNCC as required, • Job Category: Clinical – Nursing, • Holiday Pay, • Weekly pay, • Guaranteed Hours, • 401k retirement plan, • Medical benefits, • Mileage reimbursement, • Referral bonus, • License and certification reimbursement, • Dental benefits
