Impact The Renewables Safety Leader plays a critical role in driving operational safety performance across Pearce's Renewable Energy divisions, including Solar, Wind, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), and Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure. This position serves as a strategic, field-facing safety leader who partners directly with Operations to reduce serious injuries, electrical exposures, and vehicle incidents while embedding safety ownership into day-to-day execution. The role translates risk into operational action, ensuring safety enables productivity, mobilization readiness, and customer success. By leveraging predictive insights, safety analytics, and strong operational partnerships, the Renewables Safety Leader advances Pearce's vision of proactive, data-driven risk prevention and continuous improvement across renewable operations. Core Responsibilities * Partner with Renewable Operations leadership to integrate safety into planning, mobilization, and job execution activities. * Serve as the primary HSE advisor supporting assigned renewable divisions or geographic regions. * Drive safety strategies focused on injury prevention, electrical risk reduction, and vehicle incident mitigation. * Reinforce operational ownership of safety performance at the supervisor and manager level. * Provide safety oversight for high-risk renewable activities including energized electrical work, commissioning, battery/ESS operations, lifting activities, and work at height. * Support implementation of electrical safe work practices aligned with NFPA 70E and regulatory requirements. * Maintain consistent field presence to build trust, credibility, and operational alignment across renewable job sites. * Conduct field observations focused on job readiness, hazard recognition, human performance, and leadership effectiveness. * Coach supervisors and technicians on safe decision-making, situational awareness, and accountability expectations. * Lead or support investigations for recordable, serious, and high-potential incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented. * Monitor safety performance indicators such as TRIR, PVIR, near misses, safety observations, vehicle incidents, and electrical exposures. * Utilize safety data, telematics trends, and leading indicators to identify emerging operational risks and prioritize preventative actions. * Support the development and continuous improvement of renewable safety programs including electrical safety, driver safety, field risk assessments, equipment safety, and mobilization readiness processes. * Support compliance with customer safety requirements and renewable-specific contractual obligations. * Participate in audits, customer reviews, and regulatory inspections. * Partner with Workforce Development, Operations, Fleet, HR, and Engineering teams to address safety risks and competency gaps. * Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Safety Specialists or Coordinators supporting renewable operations when applicable. Core Requirements * 5+ years of Environmental Health & Safety experience within renewable energy, utilities, construction, or industrial services environments. * Demonstrated experience supporting Solar, Wind, ESS, EV infrastructure, or electrical construction operations. * Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 regulations. * Working knowledge of electrical safety principles and energized work hazards. * Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis. * Ability to influence frontline supervisors and operational leadership in high-risk work environments. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret safety data and implement practical operational solutions. * Experience supporting audits, customer compliance reviews, and regulatory interactions. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS management systems. * Ability and willingness to travel extensively to renewable job sites across the United States.
