Essex Manor Health and Rehab is seeking a Director of Environmental Services to lead our housekeeping and laundry departments in a dynamic and mission-driven skilled nursing facility. About the Role: As the EVS Director, you will oversee the daily operations of the Environmental Services department, ensuring our facility meets high standards of cleanliness, infection control, and regulatory compliance. You’ll supervise a dedicated team of housekeeping and laundry staff, coordinate schedules, manage supply inventory, and collaborate with nursing and maintenance teams to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents. Key Responsibilities: Direct and manage housekeeping and laundry operations to maintain a clean and safe facility Hire, train, schedule, and supervise EVS staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms, common areas, and laundry facilities Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local health and safety regulations, including infection prevention protocols Manage budgets, inventory, and vendor relationships for supplies and equipment Collaborate with nursing, maintenance, and administrative teams to meet facility goals and resident needs Lead by example to foster a positive, team-focused work environment Qualifications: Previous EVS leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility, hospital, or long-term care setting required Strong knowledge of infection control, sanitation standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CMS, OSHA) Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills Ability to multitask, delegate effectively, and respond quickly to facility needs High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in environmental services or healthcare management a plus What We Offer: Competitive pay based on experience Full benefits package: health, dental, vision, PTO Supportive leadership and collaborative team environment Career growth opportunities within our organization The chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents and their families Salary/ Wage Range Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
