This role acts as a technical leader in the field, supports large-scale commercial projects, and mentors less experienced technicians. The Senior Technician ensures all work meets safety, quality, and compliance standards while providing exceptional customer service to commercial clients. Key Responsibilities • Diagnose, repair, and maintain complex commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, VAV systems, heat pumps, VRF/VRV systems, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, and ventilation systems., • Lead advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and major component replacements., • Perform commercial system installations, start-ups, commissioning, and retrofits according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements., • Conduct detailed preventive maintenance and provide recommendations for system improvements, energy efficiency, and lifecycle upgrades., • Ensure all work adheres to company standards, project specifications, OSHA safety regulations, and local building codes., • Provide coaching, technical guidance, and on-the-job training to junior and mid-level technicians., • Work closely with dispatch, project managers, and estimators to support scheduling, work planning, and customer communication., • Build strong client relationships and communicate findings, options, and recommendations clearly and professionally., • Complete accurate documentation of service reports, time entries, parts usage, and job progress., • Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle in safe operating condition. Must be available to work weekends and holidays. JOB DUTIES: Duties as assigned, may include, but are not limited to, the following: • Performance of daily husbandry for a variety of laboratory species, including environment enrichment., • Daily observation of health, monitoring of environmental controls, record keeping and reporting., • Performing research activities in coordination with investigators as a member of the research team., • Performing veterinary care in coordination with veterinary staff., • Operation of cage wash equipment and other critical equipment., • Conduct of quality assurance practices in the facility., • Collecting, organizing, and preparing soiled caging and accessories for sanitation and or sterilization., • Operating machine-washing equipment and or sterilizers, along with managing necessary cage wash chemicals, to appropriately sanitize and or sterilize caging and accessories., • Provides quality assurance testing, observations, and documents results to ensure adequate sanitation and or sterilization of cage materials., • Preparing fresh caging and related accessories according to requested orders on a scheduled basis by animal facility and research staff., • Distributing clean caging and accessories according to requested scheduled orders to facility animal holding rooms., • Performing preventative maintenance and maintaining service records on all sanitation equipment., • Performing general cleaning of facility by hand and using sanitation equipment., • Assisting in bringing animal food, bedding and animal facility related materials from the building loading dock into facility storage and use areas.
