Job DescriptionSalary: $35-$42/hr Maintenance Technician Manufacturing & Facility Support Location: Holland, OH Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Primarily Day Shift (flexible coverage as needed) Pay: $35$42 per hour (based on experience and technical capability) Industry: Window & Door Manufacturing Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing equipment, process improvement initiatives, and facility maintenance within our window and door production operations. This role primarily works day shift; however, flexibility is required to address equipment breakdowns, special projects, and operational needs. The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining production efficiency, equipment reliability, and overall facility functionality. Key Responsibilities: Manufacturing Maintenance & Reliability • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, • Troubleshoot and repair saws, routers, welders, cutting and handling equipment, • Maintain conveyors, motors, drives, and gearboxes, • Diagnose and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, • Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V, including sensors, motors, control circuits, and VFDs, • Assist with PLC troubleshooting and minor program or parameter adjustments, • Respond promptly to equipment issues to minimize downtime, • Complete work orders, inspections, and maintenance documentation accurately, • Maintain tools, spare parts inventory, and equipment records, • Collaborate with equipment suppliers to gain full understanding of facility equipment and improve response times Process Engineering Support • Partner with Production to improve equipment uptime, reliability, and cycle times, • Support efforts to reduce scrap, rework, and material waste, • Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) of equipment and process failures, • Support new product introductions and line changes, • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, • Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), preventive maintenance standards, and changeover documentation, • Participate in equipment capability reviews and performance improvement projects, • Support installation, commissioning, and optimization of new equipment Facility Maintenance Responsibilities • Perform routine facility maintenance, including building systems and infrastructure, • Maintain doors, dock equipment, and overhead doors, • Repair lighting, electrical outlets, and basic power distribution systems, • Perform minor plumbing repairs such as leaks, fixtures, and drains, • Monitor and perform basic HVAC troubleshooting (filters, belts, sensors), • Support plant utilities including compressed air, vacuum systems, and dust collection, • Perform basic carpentry, welding, and fabrication for repairs and improvements, • Assist with facility inspections, safety audits, and compliance requirements, • Coordinate with outside contractors for repairs and capital projects, • Support general workplace organization and seasonal facility needs Schedule & Flexibility: • Primary schedule: Day shift, • Flexibility required for equipment breakdowns, urgent repairs, shutdowns, and special projects, • Occasional off-shift or weekend work (approximately once per month), • Overtime may be required based on business needs Required Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED (technical training or associate degree preferred), • 35+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, • Experience supporting both production equipment and facility systems, • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting (up to 480V), pneumatics, and hydraulics, • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills, • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in building products manufacturing, • PLC experience (Allen-Bradley or Siemens), • MIG/TIG welding and fabrication skills, • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles, • Experience developing or improving a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), • Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift certification, • OSHA or industrial safety training Physical & Work Requirements: • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work on equipment for extended periods, • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, temperature variations, and moving machinery Compensation & Benefits: • Competitive hourly pay with performance-based increases, • Primarily day-shift position with flexible support expectations, • Overtime opportunities, • Health insurance stipend, • Paid time off and paid holidays, • 401(k) with company match, • Training, development, and advancement opportunities Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply with a resume outlining relevant maintenance and manufacturing experience.
