Job Description Controller Fastener Dimensions, Inc. Pennsauken, NJ • $90,000 to $120,000 per year - based on experience, • Full Time – 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, • 6 Paid Holidays, • PTO, 401K, Sick Time, • Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance, Short/long-term Disability Position Summary: The Financial Controller oversees all accounting, financial reporting, and internal control functions across the organization. This position ensures accuracy, compliance with GAAP, cost visibility, and supports operational leadership with timely financial insights to drive profitability, efficiency, and compliance. The Controller acts as the financial steward for the business — maintaining integrity in reporting, ensuring fiscal discipline, and partnering with plant operations to optimize performance. Key Roles & Responsibilities: Financial Management & Reporting -Lead all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities. • Prepare and analyze P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements for accuracy and completeness., • Coordinate annual audits with external auditors., • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies., • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and banking (all FDI, RPM & Brightstars) Budgeting & Forecasting • Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with plant and department managers., • Monitor performance against budgets, identifying variances and corrective actions., • Support cost-reduction initiatives by providing detailed financial analysis. Cost Accounting / Manufacturing Finance • Oversee and maintain standard cost models, bill of materials (BOM), and labor burden rates., • Analyze OEE, efficiency, and productivity impacts on cost of goods sold (COGS)., • Track and report Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), scrap, and rework costs. Internal Controls & Compliance • Maintain strong internal control framework to ensure data integrity and fraud prevention., • Ensure compliance with AS9100 financial controls and corporate procedures., • Manage fixed assets, capital expenditures, depreciation schedules and chart of accounts., • Oversee accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) functions. Leadership & Cross-Functional Support • Supervise accounting staff, ensuring competence and development., • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality to align financial reporting with operational metrics., • Provide decision-support analytics to senior management (EBITDA, ROI, working capital). Systems & Continuous Improvement • Maintain and enhance ERP/financial systems (QuickBooks Desktop)., • Develop dashboards to monitor KPIs such as EBITA %, OEE impact, and cash flow., • Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices in finance processes. Additional Responsibilities: · Conduct rigorous monthly reviews of accounting records to uphold data integrity and accuracy. · Prepare financial statements in strict accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). · Establish and maintain an efficient record retention and filing system to ensure easy access and compliance. · Manage cash flow and perform meticulous bank reconciliations to maintain financial stability. · Develop and refine sophisticated cost accounting systems and procedures to optimize financial performance. · Review, interpret, and analyze complex financial data to support strategic decision-making. · Coordinate and meticulously prepare for year-end tax preparations, providing comprehensive financial information to external accountants. · Collaborate with management to design and implement the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. · Maintain detailed fixed asset records, including precise depreciation schedules, to ensure accurate financial reporting. · Oversee comprehensive profitability analysis, regulatory reporting, cost accounting, and productivity monitoring to support financial health. · Prepare and accurately record monthly journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. · Submit, maintain & comply with 401K. Education, Experience, Skills & Abilities: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (CPA or CMA preferred)., • Minimum 5–10 years progressive experience in accounting/finance, including 3+ years in manufacturing., • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and ERP systems., • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis., • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma / AS9100 preferred., • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills., • Minimum 5 years QuickBooks experience.
