Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner across all bar and outlet locations. This role ensures a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and service while creating a welcoming atmosphere and a memorable guest experience. Our outlets are non-tipping establishments, this is not a tipped position. Essential Functions • Prepare and serve a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages using a broad range of ingredients including liquors, bitters, soda, water, sugar, fruits, mixers, etc., • Accurately take and handle beverage and food orders from all outlets, patrons and/or service staff, ensuring prompt and attentive service., • Interact with guests in a positive and engaging manner, offering drink recommendations and tailoring suggestions based on guest preferences., • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by regularly cleaning bar surfaces, tools, glassware, tables, chairs, and surrounding areas., • Provide a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with patrons., • Check guest identification to verify age requirements in accordance with legal standards and company policies., • Collect payment, process transactions, and return appropriate change, ensuring cash handling accuracy and balancing receipts at the end of shifts., • Ensure the bar is consistently well-stocked with necessary supplies including liquor, wine, beer, garnishes, mixers, glassware, napkins, straws, and other accessories., • Slice, pit, and prepare garnishes for drinks., • Organize and maintain the bar area to support efficient workflow and inventory control; transport inventory from other locations when needed., • Prepare and serve food items, snacks, and appetizers when applicable, maintaining food safety standards., • Contribute to creating new and signature drinks, bar menu planning, and participating in promotional or themed beverage events., • Place orders for bar inventory as needed, collaborating with relevant departments to ensure timely replenishment., • Monitor guest behavior and consumption to promote responsible alcohol service and de-escalate inappropriate situations professionally., • Follow all safety, hygiene, and food & beverage regulations to uphold brand and legal compliance. Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements • Training or Experience with Bartending, Extensive Knowledge of Drink Mixing and Garnishing, Strong Communication Skills, Positive Attitude, Personable demeanor, Multitasking, Attention to Detail, Organization, Ability to Stand for Long Periods, Strong Observational Skills, Conflict Resolution, Computer Literacy, Second Language a Plus., • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°ree;F) and kitchens (+110 °ree;F), possibly for one hour or more., • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to four hours in length., • Must have the ability to bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds including, but not limited to, pots and pans and trays of food or food items, on a regular and continuing basis., • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 150 pounds on a regular basis., • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the hotel on a timely basis., • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks., • Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously., • The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level., • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity., • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees., • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception., • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment., • Prior hospitality experience preferred, • Bi-lingual preferred, • Basic reading, writing, and math skills, • Must obtain at time of hire CA Food Handlers and Responsible Beverage Certificates Education High School or equivalent education preferred Physical Requirements • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the shift., • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy items such as cases of liquor, beer, and other bar supplies (up to 50 lbs)., • Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and manual handling of bar tools, ingredients, and equipment., • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm motions required for drink preparation and service., • Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including exposure to loud noises, bright or flashing lights, varying temperatures, dust, and secondhand smoke. Safety Requirements Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged, or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your manager. Grooming All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/ or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as part of the orientation process. Schedule The work schedule is based on the demands of the business. AM, PM, nights, overnights, weekends, and/or holiday availability are required. Standard Specification Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.
