IDR Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN CVOR for a travel nursing job in Oak Lawn, Illinois. • Specialty: CVOR, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 03/02/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 10 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel This is a 13-week crisis contract opportunity for an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse supporting a high-volume, Level I Trauma Center with a 24/7 operating room. The CVOR team manages complex, high-acuity cardiac, vascular, trauma, and transplant cases in both traditional and hybrid OR environments. • Contract Length: 13 weeks, • Dates: March 2, 2026 – May 30, 2026, • Hours: 40 hours per week, • Shift: 10-hour day shifts, • Positions Available: 1, • Setting: Surgical Services / CVOR, • Level I Trauma Center, • Magnet designated, • Comprehensive Stroke Center, • Large, tertiary-care hospital environment, • Total OR rooms: 28, • Includes 2 hybrid cardiovascular/vascular rooms, • Average daily case volume: 60–75 cases, • Hybrid rooms perform approximately 5–10 cases per day (adult only), • Inpatient, outpatient, and trauma cases, • High-acuity procedures including:, • Open heart and CABG, • Kidney and heart transplants (no liver or lung), • Trauma cases including GSWs and stabbings, • Donor cases, • General surgery, GYN, urology, • Robotics, • TAVR, • AAA repairs, • Endarterectomies, • Angiograms, • Scrub and circulate for CVOR and hybrid room procedures, • Provide safe, efficient perioperative care for high-acuity cardiac and trauma patients, • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, service line teams, and support staff, • Maintain accurate, timely documentation using EPIC, • Adhere to all perioperative, trauma, and cardiovascular protocols, • Minimum 2–3 years of acute care OR/CVOR experience, • Critical care background required, • Level I trauma experience required, • First-time travelers accepted, • Active RN license, • BLS required, • Ability to both scrub and circulate in the CVOR, • Experience with adult and/or pediatric open-heart cases (based on departmental needs), • Strong critical care skill set, • EPIC experience required, • Day shifts with rotation-based scheduling, • No self-scheduling, • On-call requirements include:, • 1 weekday call shift per week, • 1 weekend per month (Friday through Monday morning), • Approximately 125 on-call hours per month, • 30-minute response time required, • Sleeping room available for on-call staff, • One holiday required per contract, • No floating, • Day 1: Facility orientation, educator and leadership introductions, system access, online modules, and EPIC training, • Days 2–3: Unit-based orientation, • Schedules provided 2–4 weeks in advance, • Charge nurse support (no patient assignment Monday–Friday; available evenings and weekends), • Anesthesiologist bedside monitoring, • Resource nurse coverage, • ANM and educator support, • Service line representatives, • Surgeon preference cards, • EPIC super-user support, • EMR: EPIC, • IV Pumps: Alaris, • Medication Dispensing: Pyxis Crisis CVOR contract in a Level I Trauma Center High-acuity cardiac, vascular, trauma, and transplant cases Scrubs provided Free on-site parking All requested time off must be submitted via email at time of submission IDR Healthcare is an awarding winning staffing firm that believes it is a privilege and awesome responsibility to serve those who selflessly care for others.
