Job Description Job Title: Avionics Technician – Helicopter Systems Job Description This role focuses on fabricating, installing, and testing avionics and electrical systems on helicopters, including work on Bell and Airbus platforms. You will support both basic and complex avionics installations, perform wiring and sheet metal tasks, and assist with system checks to ensure safe and reliable aircraft operation. Responsibilities • Fabricate and install basic avionics and electrical systems in accordance with standard aircraft practices., • Assist technicians with more complex avionics and electrical installation tasks., • Disassemble and reassemble aircraft interiors as directed to facilitate avionics installations or repairs., • Perform light sheet metal fabrication to support avionics installation and repair activities., • Assist in creating or interpreting wiring harness maps or mock-ups., • Fabricate and install wiring harnesses, ensuring proper routing, securing, and termination., • Complete antenna installations, including mounting, routing, and connection to avionics systems., • Perform coaxial cable installations, including routing, termination, and testing., • Complete or assist with OHM (ohmmeter) checks and power checks on avionics and electrical systems., • Complete or assist with ground checks to verify proper operation of installed avionics systems., • Terminate wires using appropriate crimping, soldering, and connector installation techniques., • At least 2 years of experience working with avionics systems., • Hands-on experience with avionics installation and avionics troubleshooting., • Proficiency with standard aircraft wiring practices, including routing, securing, and terminating wires., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams., • Experience working with electrical components used in aircraft avionics systems., • Skill in soldering techniques appropriate for avionics wiring and components., • Experience with helicopter avionics, including testing and troubleshooting., • Ability to perform light sheet metal fabrication to support avionics installations., • Capability to perform OHM and power checks and assist with ground checks., • Familiarity with creating or using wiring harness maps or mock-ups., • Experience fabricating and installing wiring harnesses, antennas, and coaxial cables., • Comfort working in a hangar environment around active aircraft maintenance operations., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures and documentation. Work Environment You will work in a large hangar environment alongside a team surrounded by active helicopter maintenance and modification projects. The setting involves hands-on work on Bell and Airbus helicopters, using avionics test equipment, wiring tools, and sheet metal tools in a collaborative shop atmosphere. The environment is dynamic and project-driven, with close coordination between technicians and other maintenance personnel to complete aircraft on schedule. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Pleasant, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.
