Job Description A day on the road Picture this: you start your morning with a pre-trip inspection of a Class A tractor-trailer, confirm your route, and head out to keep stores and venues stocked with packaged ice. Some days you’ll run a scheduled route; other days you’ll move full truckloads to specific customer sites. As business needs evolve, your delivery region, route, and even the type of equipment you operate may change—your adaptability keeps our customers happy. What you’ll do • Drive and care for your company tractor-trailer, operating it safely and professionally at all times., • Physically unload, deliver, fill, and rotate packaged ice at customer locations, including merchandisers., • Complete thorough pre- and post-trip inspections; comply with DOT regulations and federal/state hours-of-service rules., • Participate daily in our Daily Visual Management (DVM) process and review results with fellow drivers., • Generate invoices for each delivery and finish all required paperwork accurately., • Safeguard and maintain driver tools and equipment (handhelds, printers, handcarts, and hand trucks) and keep accurate inventory of them., • Immediately report any accidents or injuries—no matter how minor., • Pick up company equipment as directed and perform additional operational tasks as assigned., • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and processes without exception., • Uphold our Code of Business Ethics—honesty, integrity, and the highest standards of conduct are non‑negotiable., • Pallets delivered per day: 16, • 7 lb. bags per pallet: 300, • Total bags delivered per day (#7 lb. equivalent): 2,100, • Total bags delivered per 5‑day week: 10,500, • Total pounds delivered per day: 21,000, • Total pounds delivered per 5‑day week: 105,000, • Tons delivered daily: 10.5, • Read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English., • Remain constantly alert and operate in a safe manner., • Work without undue fatigue and accurately gauge time and distance., • Retain and recall instructions quickly in short‑term memory., • Focus on tasks requiring strong judgment and high cognitive function., • React effectively to sudden changes, alarms, or emergencies., • Exhibit a genuine, consistent commitment to safety., • Respond rapidly with unimpaired coordination and quick reflexes., • Be free of mental or physical impairments that would hinder safe, competent performance., • High School diploma or GED required., • Three years of prior route delivery driving experience preferred., • At least one year of experience operating a vehicle similar to your assigned equipment., • Solid math abilities and outstanding customer service skills. Operating responsibilities, • Active Class A CDL required; this is a professional driver role—safe, courteous driving is essential., • Operate in demanding traffic and weather; drive in stressful environments., • Load, unload, and rotate product in merchandisers., • Lift 40 lbs repeatedly throughout the day., • Valid DOT Medical Card, • Current CDL License
