Job Description Summary/Objective The Director of Nursing (DON) is a licensed Registered Nurse who responsible for overseeing all Sentido Health employees, manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursing department. The DON will lead and implement goals for all employees in the Nursing department and ensure compliance with all patient care procedures, safety protocols, and company policies. Essential Functions • Lead all nursing staff and provide assistance as needed, • Oversee operations of the Nursing Department to ensure quality care for Sentido Health patients, • Involved in interviewing, evaluating, and hiring of candidates in the Nursing Department, • Communicate all policies and procedures to their department to maintain company guidelines, • Evaluates work performance of nursing personnel to determine wage increases and provide advisement, • Communicates and directs instructions to nurses on daily basis, • Effectively manage nurses to provide exceptional and compassionate care to patients, • Collaborate with other departments effectively when needed, • Establish and implement goals for the nursing department to motivate and improve employee performance, • Complies with all OSHA regulations and other local, state, and federal government regulations, • Establishes a training system for future nursing department employees to ensure proper training is provided, • Experience with managing and leading a department of nurses, • Knowledge on appropriate and compassionate patient care, • Licensed by the Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse, • Knowledge on home health care guidelines, • Knowledge in communicating with pediatric patients and families, • Understanding of all legal compliances, • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing, • Maintain professionalism when on the phone and through email, • Ability to self-manage and work in a fast-paced environment 1. Understanding of documenting in Kantime and other systems while managing the employees who utilize, 2. Can effectively communicate to patients, families, Case Managers, DON, ADON and Physicians to manage nurses who communicate with these parties, 3. Maintains clean vehicle and up to date insurance and registration while ensuring all nurses follow these guidelines, 4. Maintains presentable appearance, properly follows PPE Guidelines while managing the nurses on the field to follow these guidelines, 5. Medication Administration via the following routes: PO, GB, GJ, Rectal, IM, IV, SQ, Nasal, Optic, Otic, and inhaler to ensure the nurses are competent with these medication administration routes, 6. Knowledge and understanding of wound care to ensure the nurses are competent in wound care, 7. GB/GJ Care/Maintenance, Delivery of medications and feeding via GB/GJ, feeding pump use to manage and ensure nurses are competent as well, 8. Tracheostomy care/maintenance, Suctioning: Oral, Nasal, and Tracheostomy, Ventilator use, HHN administration, Oxygen Administration, Pulse Oximeter Use to manage and ensure nurses are competent as well, 9. Urinary Catheterization insertion and removal while managing and ensuring all nurses are competent in urinary catheterization, 10. Knowledge an understanding of Universal Precautions, Safety Measures, Seizure Precautions while ensuring all employee are competent as well Supervisory Responsibility Department and Program Staff Management Work Environment Field, Office, Remote Physical Demands Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. and as needed weekends Travel Some Preferred Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Masters Preferred, • Pediatric Acute Care and Education, • RN license by the Board of Nursing, • Home Health Pediatrics Experience, • Minimum 1 year experience with RN license
