American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Neuro ICU for a travel nursing job in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Neuro ICU, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/26/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Work in the Neuro ICU of a Level I Trauma and Teaching Hospital with a short-term acute care setting, • Patient population includes those with TBI, SAH, SDH, tumor resections, status epilepticus, and other neurological disorders, • Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:2 in the Neuro ICU, • Potential to be floated to other ICUs, PCU, ED, or PACU to care for admitted patients, • Possible assignment to CTICU with existing contract terms honored, • Weekend shifts required based on unit needs, • Both 36-hour and 48-hour contract options available, • Uses Cerner EMR system, • Duties include advanced neurological care, post-op and post-procedure monitoring, and management of complex neurocritical conditions, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed, • Black scrubs are required for this unit, • Drug screening must be completed within 30 days of start, • Holiday time-off requests are limited to one holiday bundle; extended RTO over 7 days requires approval, • Orientation includes unit modules (up to 4 hours billable) and compliance training, • Parking is provided at no cost, • Travelers may work up to 12 consecutive months before a required break, • Former perm employees are eligible if separated for at least 12 months\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NM or compact RN license, or eligibility to obtain prior to start, • Minimum 1.5 years of Neuro ICU or related ICU experience required, • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required, • Skills in ICP monitoring, EVD and A-line insertions, intubation, central line placement, CRRT, post-TPA and thrombectomy care, and dysrhythmia management required, • COVID vaccination required, with religious and medical exemptions accepted via appropriate documentation, • No RQI certifications will be considered, • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility, • Pending licenses may be accepted for consideration\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
