American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Houston, Texas. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: CVICU, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/13/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVCC) of a busy Level 1 Trauma acute care setting, • Primary patient population includes open heart surgery, transplant, and AAA cases, • Shifts are 12 hours, 7p-7a, with every other weekend required, • Use of Epic EMR is required, • Flexibility required for floating to other units, • CRRT experience preferred and recent ECMO experience valued, • Care for critically ill cardiovascular patients including post-operative open heart and transplant cases, • Be prepared to support a high-acuity, high-volume environment typical of a major academic Level 1 Trauma center, • No self-scheduling; flexibility on scheduling needed, • Parking costs are not covered and range from daily to monthly rates, • First time travelers are not specified as accepted, • Returning employees of CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year are not eligible, • Required to wear department-approved scrubs\n \n Requirements\n, • Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted, • Minimum of 2 years recent CVICU or strong critical care experience in a large academic medical center, • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS, • Epic EMR experience required, • Must provide two professional references, one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years showing employment dates and rehire eligibility, • Copy of driver’s license required\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
