Job DescriptionPOSITION: Head Cook DEPARTMENT: Early Childhood - Birth through Five LOCATION: Bushwick Child & Family Center: 319 Stanhope Street, Brooklyn, NY REPORTS TO: Educational Site Director DATE: October 2025 SALARY: $35,360 SCHEDULE: 8:00am - 4:00pm JOB SUMMARY: The cook implements food services in Grand Street Settlement’s early childhood program, serving children ages 3-5, following the Department of Health, CACFP, Department of Education, and Head Start Performance Standards. Responsibilities include preparing attractive, USDA-approved meals; keeping the kitchen and classroom areas clean and sanitary according to Health Department ordinances; and maintaining adequate food stocks, kitchen supplies, and mandated CACFP nutrition records (including meal counts and food production records).
