Job Description Clean Tech Job Description Job Title: Shift Supervisor Department: Service Reports to: Site Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary / Job Scope If you like to ensure equipment works better, this is the role for you. As a Shift Supervisor, you’ll work at customer sites where you are the face of Pfeiffer Vacuum - Clean Tech and an integral part of a vibrant and diverse team. We train our Field Service Teams to support the technology that the world relies on to ensure clean air. You are a steward of the environment when Centrotherm - Clean Tech Abatement Systems perform to their potential. You’ll oversee a team of field service FST’s to ensure our global customers experience a motivated, talented and engaged customer service experience with installation, maintenance and upgrades of their Centrotherm equipment, delivering world-class support for multi-million-dollar production systems. Minimum Knowledge and Skills This position will be compensated on an hourly (non-exempt) basis. You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience. The following skills are valued for success: • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to interact with customers and stakeholders within a diverse organization., • Role modeling safety and attention to detail in following procedural requirements related to the handling of hazardous production materials., • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics., • Clear and effective written/verbal communications skills, with an emphasis on documenting details., • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)., • Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge in any of the following: pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics., • Knowledge of hand tools and proper usage, including a digital multimeter., • Personal focus on safety for the individual and those around them. Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities ((An * denotes duties or responsibilities judged to be "secondary functions" in terms of the American with Disabilities Act or ADA) • Supervise the Company’s team of field service technicians (FST’s) at target customer sites sustaining product support., • Maintain strong customer service levels within target accounts., • Convey customer requirements, serving as a key communication link between our customer and internal stakeholders, • Coordination of all schedules and customer requests to manage employee scheduling, ensuring proper coverage during vacation/ time off requests/ sick time and complete bi-weekly timecard approval/ monitoring for staff., • Communicate all site activities and needs (incidents, training, equipment, etc.) to Site Manager., • Participate in continuous improvement projects, safety meetings, task force and escalation meetings, management reviews, etc., as requested., • Provide input and actively participate in resolving quality issues with systems installed at target customer sites., • May maintain accurate records of system performance, tool-down-situations, quality issues and continuous improvement projects., • Perform front-line data collection for new product/application discovery, • Maintain product knowledge, applications and trouble shooting skills., • Ensure that personnel are provided adequate technical training (new product and refresher)., • Provide input to the hiring process/ intake function., • Address behavioral situations with involved party, including coaching, preparing PIP and/or written correction plan, while escalating continued performance issues with Site Manager and HR., • Perform bi-weekly timecard approvals and manage sick time and vacation time requests., • Work on assigned shift to perform pass downs/ info sharing service, trouble-shooting, technical analysis, improvements, and trainings., • Experience supporting Tier 1 Semiconductor companies strongly desired Minimum and Preferred Education/Training/Experience • Very strong verbal and written communication skills, • Proven Field Service experience with technical products (5+ years desired), • Semiconductor industry/process knowledge strongly desired, • Direct experience managing 24x7 field support teams supporting technical products, • Technical degree, certification, or equivalent experience, • Experience in Mechanical and/or Electrical systems, • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, • Desire in developing and maintaining a great team, • Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Must be able to: • Periodically work in an environment with chemicals and gasses, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves., • Work a compressed work week as assigned, including night shift alternating between 4 and 3, 12 hour shifts per week., • Travel may be required within the United States as well as internationally. Less than 20%.
