Job DescriptionJob Title: Inventory Specialist Job Description The Inventory Specialist accurately receives, stores, issues, and tracks materials and parts within a climate-controlled manufacturing environment. This role uses inventory systems, material handling equipment, and standardized procedures to maintain precise stock levels, support production, and ensure that all incoming and outgoing shipments meet quality and documentation requirements. Responsibilities • Receive and count stock items, verifying quantities against documentation to maintain accurate inventory levels., • Stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment to ensure proper tracking and traceability., • Store materials and parts in designated warehouse, tool room, supply room, or other storage areas in an organized and efficient manner., • Run inventory reports using ERP systems and RF scanners to monitor stock levels and support production and shipping needs., • Inspect incoming parts and materials, recording any damage, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications., • Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring correct items, quantities, and documentation., • Prepare work orders, bills of lading, shipping orders, and related paperwork to support shipping and internal material movements., • Issue tools, equipment, and supplies as requested, ensuring proper documentation and tracking., • Load and unload materials using a sit-down forklift in a safe and efficient manner., • Operate an overhead crane to move and position heavy materials as required., • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to support a safe and orderly work environment., • Report broken or damaged tools and equipment promptly to support timely repair or replacement., • Perform order pulling and picking activities to support production and shipping schedules.Essential Skills, • At least 2 years of inventory experience in a manufacturing environment., • Proficiency operating a sit-down forklift., • Experience using ERP systems and RF scanners for inventory tracking and reporting., • Hands-on experience with order pulling and picking in a warehouse or manufacturing setting., • Ability to operate an overhead crane safely and effectively., • Strong attention to detail when counting, labeling, and recording inventory transactions., • Ability to accurately inspect materials for damage, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications., • Capability to prepare and manage basic shipping and inventory documentation such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders., • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-focused environment., • Basic computer literacy to navigate inventory and reporting systems.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Heavy forklift experience, including operation of forklifts up to approximately 36,000 pounds, is a plus., • Experience operating a reach truck is preferred., • Experience operating a cherry picker is preferred., • Previous experience in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility is beneficial., • Familiarity with warehouse best practices for organization, safety, and material handling., • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment that supports comfort and consistency throughout the year. Work takes place in warehouse and production support areas that use forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment, as well as ERP systems and RF scanners for inventory control. The position follows structured shifts, with a first shift from approximately 5:00 AM to 2:30 PM and a second shift from approximately 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and cleanliness, with regular cleaning of supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
