Transdev in Maplewood,155 Prospect Ave NJ is hiring an in-person Dispatcher to join our Essex County team. The Dispatcher oversees road service through communication with Operators and provides customer support to the clients. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety. Transdev is proud to offer: * Competitive compensation package of minimum $20.41 hr - Maximum $23.00 hr Benefits include: * Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks * Sick days: 5 days * Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard, 4 floating * Other standard benefits: medical, dental and vision, life insurance, 401k, and voluntary benefits Key Responsibilities: * Oversee road service assigned by tracking trip performance measures, route begin on time, performance, incidents, etc. * Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips including no shows, cancellations and missed trips. * Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators, act as liaison between the operators and emergency services. * Manage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service. * Managing run pullouts and openings and closing runs in designated Dispatch & Scheduling * Recording late pullouts, uncovered driver callouts, and closed routes * Proactively managing runs to maintain service performance standards * Reassigning trips between runs in a timely way, as needed * Responding to driver requests for assistance * Managing incidents and accidents in accordance with established policies and procedures * Other duties as required. Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree preferred. * 3-5 years' experience dispatching and prior experience as a driver for paratransit operations may be beneficial. * Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills. * Problem solving and analytical skills. * Knowledge of traffic patterns and their Impact on paratransit operations, preferred * Excellent communication skills in person, over the phone, and on a two-way communication device * Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and paratransit scheduling software (and preferably Spare) and the ability to learn new software * Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. * Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
