Job Description Data Center Engineer 5 – QA/QC Engineer (MEP/Cx) | Palisades, NY | 3-Month Contract | Onsite | Traveler Execute the client's QA/QC Program throughout L1-L5 commissioning (Cx) levels as a mid-level data center project field QA/QC role. This is a full-time traveler position responsible for MEP quality assurance, commissioning oversight, equipment inspection, and documentation management across data center construction projects. Work onsite with potential for overtime on a project-based assignment within the United States. POSITION OVERVIEW: • Title: Data Center Engineer 5 (QA/QC Engineer – MEP/Cx), • Type: Contract, • Duration: 3 months (May 18, 2026 – August 18, 2026), • Hours: 40–50 hours per week (with overtime potential), • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM EST, • Work Type: Onsite (traveler role), • Base Reporting Location: Palisades, NY (348 Route 9W), • Travel: 50–75% travel across United States project locations, • Start Date: May 18, 2026 COMPENSATION: • Pay Rate: $58.00/hour TRAVEL & LOGISTICS: • Traveler Role: Project-based assignments at various United States locations, • Travel Coverage: Expenses covered by employer, • Travel Frequency: 50–75% travel requirement, • Flexible Location: Assigned to project needs across U.S. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: PRE-CONSTRUCTION & PLANNING: • Review MEP project drawings, approved submittals, and specifications, • Perform preparatory phase meetings with subcontractors, • Confirm contractor readiness to work onsite, • Develop methods of procedure (MOPs) for specific equipment and systems, • Assist with MOP development and implementation EQUIPMENT & SYSTEM INSPECTIONS: • Inspect incoming MEP equipment and complete receiving checklists, • Review MEP mockups for equipment or specific systems per specifications, • Perform inspection for foreign object debris (FOD) inside MEP equipment, • Perform final equipment inspection prior to L3 energization, • Ensure all set-in-place inspection checklists completed by JLL-SKAE and subs/vendors, • Document equipment condition and readiness QA/QC DOCUMENTATION & TRACKING: • Document and track all required QA/QC deliverables and test reports (L2–L3), • Track and organize all required documentation for L1–L3 on Procore or similar platform, • Record observations and issues in required software platform, • Manage all issues and observations and ensure timely closeout, • Maintain QA/QC documentation and compliance records, • Track NETA, Short Circuit Study, Torque/Megger sheets, TAB reports TESTING, ADJUSTING & COMMISSIONING: • Support NETA Testing documentation and process, • Coordinate TAB (Testing, Adjusting & Balancing) activities, • Track Short Circuit Study documentation, • Ensure proper equipment startup and energization support, • Oversee L3 document deliverables and startup reports, • Assist with commissioning activities at all L1–L5 levels FIELD COORDINATION & COMMUNICATION: • Vendor/subcontractor coordination and communication, • Conduct walk-throughs and inspections, • Manage punch lists and field observations, • Communicate observations and issues to stakeholders, • Escalate critical issues and ensure resolution, • Maintain professional relationships with all parties SAFETY & COMPLIANCE: • Ensure safety compliance and site safety awareness, • Follow OSHA safety procedures and regulations, • Maintain NFPA-70E compliance and awareness, • Document all safety observations and issues, • Promote safe work practices throughout project ADMINISTRATIVE & DOCUMENTATION: • Manage software platforms (Procore, Cx Alloy, Facilities Grid), • Prepare comprehensive QA/QC reports, • Document all field inspections and observations, • Organize and maintain project documentation, • Ensure all deliverables and test reports are properly filed REQUIREMENTS: EXPERIENCE: • 3–5 years of data center construction experience, • 2–5 years of QA/QC field experience, • Data center commissioning experience strongly preferred, • MEP QA/QC or field engineering background, • Commissioning engineer or construction quality experience, • Project-based or traveler role experience, • Ability to travel 50–75% and work on project-based assignments CERTIFICATIONS & CREDENTIALS: • OSHA-30 Certification (required), • NFPA-70E Knowledge/Certification (preferred), • USACE Certification (preferred) TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: • Data Center Construction expertise, • MEP Systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) knowledge, • QA/QC Documentation and Management, • Construction Drawings and Submittal Review, • Commissioning (Cx) processes and documentation, • NETA Testing documentation and procedures, • TAB (Testing, Adjusting & Balancing) familiarity, • Short Circuit Study documentation, • Procore software platform proficiency, • Cx Alloy or Facilities Grid experience, • Method of Procedure (MOP) development, • Advanced commissioning experience, • Multiple NFPA certifications, • Project controls software proficiency (beyond Procore), • Substation or utility-scale experience, • Previous traveler/project-based
