For more information, please visit our website: PEMEX Job Summary The Senior Analyzer Specialist (AS) is a key position in the Instrumentation and Process Control (I&PC) Department contributing to the development and deployment of key departmental tactics. Additionally, the Senior Analyzer Specialist (AS) provides coaching to the Projects and Analyzer Maintenance organization in delivering analyzer safety and reliability targets. This role is deployed to support the refinery production areas, providing short- and mid-term technical support, and strategic input in the analyzer discipline. They provide technical support to operations, assist maintenance in diagnosing equipment issues, develop repair scopes, deliver quality assurance (QA) of repairs, and monitor equipment for obsolescence. The Senior Analyzer Specialist (AS) role is a highly collaborative and dynamic position that ensures reliability and proper application of equipment in their assigned area while promoting the safe deployment of new technology and best practices all in the spirit of maximizing site profitability and key environmental monitoring and performance. As a Senior Analyzer Specialist, you interface with Control Systems Engineers (CSEs), Analyzer Engineers (AEs), Analyzer Systems (AS) Maintenance Team Leads (MTLs), AS Maintenance Discipline Coordinators (DCs), Control Systems (CS) / AS maintenance planners, AS instrument crafts as well as Production Specialists, Project Engineers/Inspectors and vendor/manufacturer’s representatives to enable the 24x7 operation of the site. You are a critical thought partner to the Central Support Team Lead in the refinery’s reliability improvement journey. Success in this role is maintaining excellent process safety performance, reducing advanced control and analyzer reliability incidents, enforcing engineering standards, improving standardization of equipment and configuration while planning for and reducing obsolescence, and responding to, anticipating, and meeting Operation’s needs. As a unit AS you will be improving and delivering on your asset’s annual availability targets (Analyzer/QMI), helping your production teams manage maintenance efficiency and delivery through proper work scoping and ensuring analyzer availability and functionality through assurance activities. Accountabilities & Responsibilities: Dimension: The Senior Analyzer Specialist (AS)is a staff individual contributor role, without direct reports, but with explicit coaching expectations around the Analyzer Maintenance crafts. Additionally, the Analyzer Specialist (AS) has many interfaces within PEMEX Deer Park and outside with vendors and other partners. Interpersonal skills, negotiating skills, networking ability and the ability to manage multiple interfaces with varying needs and priorities are critical factors for this position. Select responsibilities: • Demonstrate leadership qualities by providing technical guidance to the Coordinators, Crafts, and Operators., • Attain Technical Authority 3 (TA3) status., • Interacts with Maintenance Team Lead and Coordinators to improve analyzer reliability as needed., • Support Operations for analyzer availability and uptime using Maintenance as the resource to repair the equipment., • General expectations:, • Triage analyzer issues and provide analyzer support to Operations for planned outages (e.g., Turnarounds) and unplanned outages (Abnormal Situation Management, ASM). Active participant in unit startup and shut down activities., • Perform causal investigations on analyzer failures., • Ensure I&PC documentation is kept updated, especially as modified by run and maintain Management of Change (MOCs)., • Ensure that Bad Actors / Manage Threats and Opportunities (MTO) priorities are addressed or entered onto the I&PC Obsolescence Planning strategy., • Be an ambassador for the Integrity of our Operational Technology (OT) domain and have an awareness of the threats to the OT domain and other Analyzer networks., • Respond to off-hour callouts. Maintenance Execution (ME) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) support: • Generate high-level scope for maintenance to execute repairs., • Support maintenance, as requested via escalation process, with troubleshooting and repair activities., • Contribute to the RCM Living Program by creating/updating Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans for instrumentation. Analyzers: • Specify new equipment and replacements of obsolete equipment., • Coordinate single-discipline MOCs. Complete MOC evaluation and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) items for changes in assigned area. Conduct PSSRs., • Work closely with RCM Focal Point with the development of Turnaround (TA) scope and maintain potential analyzer TA work list as items are identified. Work with TA organization for job package development, verification, and challenge. Execute the assurance responsibilities during TAs., • Review analyzer system revisions through MOCs for compliance with site standards and strategies., • Review completed Capital Projects with Project Analyzer Specialist/Engineer to ensure all required deliverables are provided and complete., • Diagnose complex analyzer problems; escalate problems to analyzer technical group and Senior Specialist/Engineer/Supervisor as needed., • Respond to requests to troubleshoot, understand and resolve analyzer-networking problems (loss of data, communication and connectivity issues) for both Data Highway and Ethernet based analyzer systems including serial communications to the DCS. Qualifications: Required: • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer., • Experience in commissioning, operating and maintenance of sample conditioning systems and associated process analyzers, • Basic computer skills required: email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, graphics, etc., • Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills., • Good work planning skills; mainly around scheduling and optimizing Analyzer PMs. Beneficial: • Prior leadership roles., • Ability to decompose complex problems to ensure timely and accurate resolution of system anomalies before they impact operations., • Ability to learn new concepts and technologies quickly., • Experience with older analyzer systems (e.g. Siemens, ABB, Servomex, Yokogawa, etc.), • Experience with older communication protocols (e.g. Serial, Modbus RTU, Siemens ELAN, Profibus, and Analog Outputs, etc.), • Competent in SAP.
