Qualifications: • Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders from an accredited college or university, • Successful completion of the national certification examination for CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) from ASHA, • Licensed or eligible to be licensed by the Colorado Department of Education Duties and Responsibilities: • Understand and comply with the legal framework for SLP services in public schools, IDEA, federal and state laws., • Determine eligibility for special education services, need for related services, and design/ implementation of individual education plans., • Implement pre-referral interventions, evaluate eligibility for early intervention, • Adhere to confidentiality and due process policies and procedure, • Advocate for student access and participation in general curriculum., • Provide appropriate and accurate assessment., • Observations and/or screenings, • Data-gathering, • Identify and select appropriate assessments, • Interpret assessment data, • Plan and develop appropriate objectives to be measured regularly, • Promote student engagement and support student participation., • Identify appropriate classroom and environmental modifications and accommodations, • Adapt curriculum, materials, and presentation style, • Integrate appropriate equipment and/or devices, • Participate in program or curriculum development, • Identify and utilize intervention approaches, • Provide SLP services on a regular basis, • Create, communicate and sustain effective collaboration., • Communicate effectively with students, families, teachers, and other professionals, • Teach, facilitate, coordinate, and supervise paraprofessionals, other staff, and family to ensure implementation of individual education plan, • Facilitate and/or assist in transition, • Adhere to ethical and legal standards of the practice of SLP., • Uphold legal and ethical practices, • Recognize cultural and other biases, • Interpret literature and apply evidence-based research and practice, • Deliver SLP services in accordance with standards and policies, • Demonstrate compliance with SLP Code of Ethics, • Engage in professional development activities to support licensure requirements and/or professional goals. This position shall be evaluated in accordance with the Colorado State Model Evaluation System.
