Job Description As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for repairing, constructing, installing, maintaining, designing, troubleshooting, and testing electronic equipment, variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), machinery, and components. You will conduct preventive maintenance and identify parts for replacement. Responsibilities • Inspect electrical and electronic systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards., • Test electrical and electronic systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, circuit boards, and equipment, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes., • Design, assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment., • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem., • Carry out preventive maintenance per the schedule and work instructions provided., • Specify electronics, sensors, VFDs, PLCs, instruments, and associated equipment., • Perform other duties as assigned or requested., • Work with DC to 480V 3 phase electrical systems., • Understand and follow Lock-out Tag-out, Confined space, and Fall protection policies. Location: Tacoma Shift: M-F, 6am or 7am - 2:30pm or 3:30pm Essential Skills • Previous industrial maintenance experience is required., • Experience as an electronic technician or similar role., • Hands-on experience with electronic testing and circuitry in a foundry or heavy industrial electrical setting., • Familiarity with various tools and equipment., • Excellent physical condition and hand-eye coordination., • Ability to read and understand technical and engineering specifications and instructions., • Experience with DC to 480V 3 phase electrical systems., • Capability to read and interpret work instructions and requirements/specifications., • Proficiency in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes., • Welding experience is beneficial but not required. Work Environment The work environment is primarily government-contracted, covering 98%-99% of business operations with contracts secured for the next six years. The facility spans 15 acres with several specialized buildings off the Pacific Highway. Expect a challenging setting that is extremely dirty, dark, dingy, sometimes wet, and hot. Large bay doors remain open year-round, leading to cold conditions during certain times. Work hours are Monday through Friday, starting at either 6 am or 7 am and ending at 2:30 pm or 3:30 pm. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Tacoma, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $74880.00 - $84052.80/yr. Union shop- Manufacturing Union Successful applicants will be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $1,000 once you commence work with us*. ($500 on 1st Check/ $250 after 90 Days/ $250 after 6 months) If candidate does not make it through the year, the bonus will be paid back in full out of last paycheck.
