Your Role: The Accounting Manager will report to the Assistant Controller and is primarily responsible for developing and continuously improving the company's accounting processes and procedures. They will be a key business partner to the Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, FP&A, and other internal stakeholders. What You'll Do: • Ensure our timely, complete, and accurate reporting in accordance with US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and other regulatory requirements, • Manage and develop a high-performing accounting team through effective leadership, coaching, and mentoring, • Provide guidance and support to direct reports; GL Accountants and Company Card Administrator by establishing clear performance expectations, providing regular feedback, and creating opportunities for professional growth., • Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance and the monthly closing of our accounts, • Prepare and review account reconciliations as well as variance explanations, • Interface with internal business partners regarding new business initiatives, including assessing the accounting treatment, reporting/regulatory disclosures, internal control implications and systems impacts, • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making., • Assist in the implementation of appropriate internal controls and process improvements, • Interact directly with the independent auditors to discuss and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner and facilitate the completion of our reviews and audits, • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting, Finance or related field, • CPA required, • 5+ years experience in accounting with a minimum of 2+ years experience at a public-company, • Prior public accounting/audit experience required (Big 4 preferred), • 2 + years of supervisory experience leading a team, • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics preferred, • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, mentor, and guide a team effectively, • Strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), including implementing internal controls processes and documentation, • Experience in accounting, financial reporting, or other relevant experience with progressively increasing responsibilities, • Strong understanding of US GAAP as well as strong written and oral communication skills, • Ability to travel 10-20% for company onboarding, team meetings and other business needs, • Strong critical thinking, analytical skills and problem-solving skills in closing process gaps and resolving issues, building analytics and analyses of financial results, • Proficient with MS Excel and advanced functionality, • You're no hero – You know the power of teamwork and celebrate the work of others before your own., • You give a sh*t – You believe in acting like an owner and making Vital Farms a place to be proud of., • You raise the standards – You know growth can be hard, but you strive to improve yourself and others each day., • You can walk in someone else's boots – You seek to understand other's viewpoints and think that you get to better answers by sitting on the same side of the table., • You don't walk on eggshells – You're not afraid to leave the bullsh*t behind and have honest conversations., • A fast-paced, energetic, remote environment with passionate people who are leading a movement to bring ethically produced food to the table., • Competitive pay and benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, and Paid Parental Leave, just to name a few)., • Generous retirement contributions: 401(k) + 3% Contribution from Day 1., • Free eggs and butter (yes, really!), along with friends and family discounts., • Fun team SWAG that will make you the talk of the town.
