Job Description Reports To - Ticketing Director Direct Reports - N/A Status - Regular Full-Time Exempt Location - On site in Downtown Houston, Texas, with flexibility for occasional remote work Schedule - Frequent nights and weekends, plus some holidays OVERVIEW The Ticketing Manager serves as the primary ticketing contact for Zilkha Hall clients, performing all ticketing functions related to Zilkha Hall performances including building and maintaining events in ticketing software, managing inventory, reporting, ensuring excellent patron and client service, and maximizing ticket sales revenue. In addition, the Ticketing Manager helps support ticketing operations for Sarofim Hall and Live at the Founders Club performances. The Ticketing Manager has a strong commitment to working collaboratively in a dynamic team environment. MAJOR FUNCTIONS Zilkha Hall • Serves as primary ticketing contact for clients renting Zilkha Hall for performances, • Maintains close relationships with Hobby Center Arts Partners, • Works on building Zilkha Hall events and subscriptions in ticketing software and placing on-sale, • Maintains events in ticketing software including but not limited to, processing complimentary tickets, building new promo codes/offers, pricing changes, inventory management, and reporting, • Monitors events on a consistent basis to ensure tickets are selling correctly and inventory is properly managed including following release schedule for all holds to ensure maximum revenue, • Maintains strong working relationships with clients/promoters including returning clients while providing high level customer service, • Maintains good relationships with front of house staff and all departments including production, • Works closely with the Ticketing Director and the Ticketing Operations Manager to better understand and implement features of Tessitura software, • Builds and maintains non-event tickets such as parking vouchers and ticketing for special events, • Builds system infrastructure for upcoming seasons, • Maintains organized files pertaining to Zilkha Hall performances to assist Marketing, Programming, Finance, and other departments with repeat client information and ticket sale information, • Maintains detailed knowledge of house scaling for Zilkha Hall, assisting clients with price levels, • Works with Sarofim Hall clients and staff to build and maintain events in ticketing software, process complimentary tickets, build offers, and assist with group sale requests, • Works with Ticketing Director and Ticketing Operations Manager to prepare night of show and weekly settlements, • Serves as occasional primary contact for night of show including settlement, • Prepares and assists with reports to internal staff and external clients, • Supports the Ticketing Director and Ticketing Operations Manager with the development of an effective and efficient staff of Ticket Associates including interviewing, hiring, and training new employees as well as weekly scheduling as necessary, • In conjunction with the Ticketing Director and Ticketing Operations Manager, supports and advises ticket staff with any needs, • Oversees all aspects of Ticketing operations in absence of the Ticketing Director and the Ticketing Operations Manager, • Prepares/assists preparation of instruction manual and how to guides for staff, • Maintains Ticketing Website for Zilkha Hall performances and assists in maintaining Sarofim Hall, Live at Founders Club, and special events information, • Works with Accounting to ensure daily balancing, • Performs ticket selling functions as needed including answering patron phone calls and emails as well as helping in-person sales, • Works with Access Team to assist patrons with accessibility needs, • Assists in pulling, processing, and organizing sponsor tickets, • Assists customers with customer service and ticketing issues that need elevation beyond the Ticket Associates, • Keeps shared ticketing inbox emails organized and easily accessible to answer questions, • Records messages for phone system including holiday venue closing message TRAITS & CHARACTERISTICS • Knowledge of ticketing with proficiency in Tessitura and understanding of Ticketmaster/Archtics, • Ability to provide excellent customer service in high pressure situations, • Detail oriented, • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products, • Basic knowledge of HTML, • Ability to work long hours including nights, weekends, and holidays COMPENSATION The Hobby Center offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 403b savings plan with matching employer contributions, and paid time off. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000.
