Job Description Position Summary The Griff Network is seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, general ledger activity, reconciliations, inventory and cost accounting analysis, and cross-functional accounting support across our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, and the ability to work closely with departments such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Production, and Operations. This individual should be comfortable being involved in the details while also looking for opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and grow into broader accounting leadership over time. This is a strong opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to develop under the Controller, support a collaborative accounting team, and contribute to the continued growth of a hands-on manufacturing business. Key Responsibilities: • Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis, and financial reporting support., • Maintain and review general ledger activity to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company accounting procedures., • Partner with the Controller on day-to-day accounting operations and special projects., • Support and coordinate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cost Accounting functions to ensure accurate transaction flow and timely reporting., • Assist with inventory accounting, cost accounting, job costing, variance analysis, and production-related financial review., • Work cross-functionally with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Production, and Operations to research discrepancies, review cost drivers, and support accurate financial data., • Help analyze material costs, inventory movement, production activity, departmental expenses, and cost-saving opportunities., • Assist with fixed asset tracking, audit preparation, internal controls, and documentation., • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, controls, and communication between Finance and Operations., • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed., • Serve as a collaborative resource for accounting team members and demonstrate the ability to take on broader leadership responsibilities over time. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred., • Minimum of 3 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience., • Manufacturing, industrial, distribution, converting, packaging, plastics, film, or related industry experience strongly preferred., • Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, AP, AR, inventory, and cost accounting support., • Understanding of manufacturing accounting concepts such as inventory costing, job costing, production variances, material usage, and cost flow through operations., • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with ERP/accounting systems., • Ability to work cross-functionally with both office and plant/operations teams., • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, organization, and problem-solving ability., • Effective communication skills with the ability to research issues, ask thoughtful questions, and explain accounting information clearly., • CPA is a plus but not required., • Prior supervisory, team lead, or mentoring experience is a plus, but not required.
