Job Description Location: Field-Based — Orange County, Long Beach, Torrance, South Bay, and surrounding Southern California areas Schedule: Part-Time, working 30 hours or less per week Growth Potential: May extend to full-time based on patient volume, facility needs, business demands, and growth within the assigned geographic area Engagement Type: Employee or Independent Contractor arrangements may be considered, as permitted by applicable law Compensation Range: $245,000 – $525,000 annualized full-time equivalent Travel: Field-based travel required; personal or company vehicle use and reimbursement terms may apply based on engagement classification, territory, assignment terms, and company policy Omni Wound Physicians is hiring Mobile Wound Care Physicians — MDs/DOs — in Southern California to provide advanced, in-person wound care services to patients in skilled nursing facilities, post-acute care centers, long-term care settings, and private residences. This is a field-based clinical role for physicians who value autonomy, flexibility, and meaningful hands-on patient care. Physicians will travel to assigned care sites, provide bedside wound care, document visits, and coordinate with facility staff, internal teams, and other treating providers. We are currently hiring in Orange County, Long Beach, Torrance, South Bay, and surrounding Southern California communities. Coverage may expand to additional areas based on patient volume, facility partnerships, and business needs. Schedule This position is part-time, working 30 hours or less per week. Typical expectations include: • Minimum of two service days per week preferred, • Patient care generally scheduled between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, • Daily travel to assigned patient care locations within the service territory, • Occasional weekend, on-call, or expanded-area coverage may be needed based on patient care needs This role may extend to a full-time schedule based on patient volume, facility needs, physician availability, and business demands in the respective geographic area. Final schedule and coverage expectations will be discussed during the hiring or contracting process. Compensation Expected Compensation Range: $245,000 – $525,000 annualized full-time equivalent Actual compensation will depend on engagement structure, schedule, assigned territory, experience, credentials, patient volume, productivity, and business needs. Part-time compensation will be based on the agreed schedule and engagement terms. Compensation may be structured as salary, hourly, per-visit, productivity-based, or another lawful arrangement depending on the final engagement terms. Independent contractor terms, if applicable, will be outlined in a written professional services agreement. Benefits, Travel, and Support Depending on engagement type and eligibility, Omni Wound Physicians may provide: • Malpractice coverage, • Mileage reimbursement, travel reimbursement, company vehicle access, or other travel support where applicable, • Personal vehicle or company vehicle arrangements based on territory, classification, business needs, and company policy, • CME or wound care certification support, • EHR and documentation tools, • Scheduling and administrative support, • Clinical operations support, • 401(k), PTO, sick leave, or other benefits where applicable For independent contractor arrangements, travel, vehicle use, mileage, reimbursement, equipment, and support terms will be outlined in the applicable written professional services agreement. Responsibilities The Mobile Wound Care Physician will provide direct wound care services in the field, including: • Evaluating, diagnosing, and managing complex wounds, • Treating diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, arterial wounds, pressure injuries, surgical wounds, post-operative wounds, and other acute or chronic wounds, • Performing wound care procedures within training, competency, facility requirements, and California scope of practice, • Providing sharp or selective debridement, negative pressure wound therapy oversight, wound biopsies, gastrostomy-site care, and related services as clinically appropriate, • Obtaining and documenting informed consent when required, • Educating patients, caregivers, and facility staff on wound care, prevention, offloading, infection prevention, and follow-up care, • Documenting patient visits accurately and timely in the company’s EHR system, • Coordinating with facility staff, care teams, internal coordinators, and other treating providers, • Following applicable clinical, privacy, infection-control, credentialing, and company policies, • Traveling to assigned care sites using a personal or company vehicle, as applicable, based on engagement classification, territory needs, and company policy, • Working independently in certain field-based care settings, using sound clinical judgment to evaluate patients, perform appropriate wound care procedures, document care, and coordinate with facility staff or internal teams when immediate on-site clinical support is not available Clinical decision-making remains the responsibility of the licensed physician. Required Qualifications Qualified candidates must have: • MD or DO degree, • Active, unrestricted California medical license in good standing, • Board certification in a relevant specialty; Surgery preferred, but Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Geriatrics, OB/GYN, or related specialties may be considered, • Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience, • Basic Life Support — BLS — certification, • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, • Current auto insurance if using a personal vehicle for work-related travel, • Ability to safely operate a personal or company vehicle, as applicable, • Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory, • Ability to work independently in mobile and facility-based environments while exercising appropriate clinical judgment within licensure, training, scope of practice, and company standards, • Ability to meet credentialing, payer enrollment, facility access, background check, health screening, and immunization requirements, as applicable, • Comfort using mobile technology, including EHR systems, tablets, laptops, and smartphones Preferred Qualifications Preferred candidates may also have: • Wound care certification, such as CWSP or CWS, • DEA registration and California CURES registration, or ability to obtain if prescribing controlled substances, • Experience in skilled nursing, post-acute care, long-term care, home health, hospice, or mobile medicine, • Strong bedside procedural skills, • Excellent documentation habits, • Strong communication skills with patients, families, facility teams, and care coordinators Physical and Travel Requirements This is a field-based role requiring regular travel to patient care locations. The physician must be able to: • Travel to multiple care sites within an assigned territory, • Use a personal vehicle or company vehicle, where applicable, for field-based travel, • Maintain safe driving practices and comply with applicable company travel, vehicle, and reimbursement policies, • Walk, stand, bend, and perform bedside procedures for extended periods, • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds of equipment or supplies, • Work in varied facility and home-based care environments, • Use mobile technology for documentation, communication, and care coordination Typical daily travel may be up to approximately 70 miles, but actual travel may vary based on territory, patient needs, and business requirements. Mileage, travel reimbursement, company vehicle access, or other travel-related support may apply based on engagement classification, assignment terms, and company policy.
