Job DescriptionSalary: Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer Department: Services Reports To: Senior Project Manager Job Summary The Systems Engineer is a professional position within the Solutions Group and is part of a team responsible for project engagements specifically focused on design, development, support and administration of Microsoft Server Infrastructure within multi-server enterprise class environments. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Building, testing, and integrating Windows based servers in production environments that include O/S upgrades, SAN installations and connectivity, hardware support to some degree (IBM, HP and Dell), and implementation of server standards and deployment policies. Essential Functions: • Provides timely and efficient delivery of services to clients and business partners, • Responsible for architecting, designing, deploying and supporting systems infrastructure in enterprise class environments including but not limited to servers (physical and virtual), storage (NAS, SAN), backup & restore (onsite and cloud), virtual desktop (Citrix and terminal server), disaster recovery (replication) data migration and systems infrastructure monitoring, • Responsible for architecting, deploying and supporting cloud services including but not limited to Microsoft Office365 suite (exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive), security, encryption, archiving, backup and recovery Responsibilities include backup and restore, clustering, replication, and migration, • Effectively analyze and measure system performance, capacity, and availability often used to identify new opportunities and to assist clients with planning efforts, • Performs scheduled installation of solutions and effectively works with clients to ensure that the solutions achieve the proposed and intended objectives and ensures that the client receives adequate knowledge transfer, • Works with the Project Manager on scheduling and project timelines and reports on project progress, status and issues for self as well as the other team members, • Participate as needed in Kick off meetings to add direction and stress key parameters and concerns (in-house and client settings) and prepares appropriate documentation during the project and at project closure, • Provide for and ensure proper transition into steady state operations (post project), ensuring adequate documentation and skills transfer to the CIC to successfully provide ongoing support, • Works with Engineers and solutions architects in designing, deploying and supporting assigned operating systems and disciplines., • Consistently collaborates with other Engineers to solve complex procedural, operational, technical problems and provides technical direction and training to team members, • Acts as a Level III resource for the other Engineers, • Assists Sales in the design, specification, and configuration of solutions., • Provides the technical leadership on client engagements and opportunities to develop solution designs, develop work products and act as a subject matter expert on consulting projects, • Provides the technical leadership to develop technical proposals, assessment documents, and other technical documentation, including periodic articles for our newsletter, website and other Social Media strategies, • Effectively acts as project technical lead on solutions engagements and directs other team members, • Work with account managers to properly quote services to current and potential clients, • Looks for opportunities to expand technical knowledge in currently assigned disciplines, as well as emerging technologies, • Routinely checks both service and pre-sales boards to ensure tickets assigned to systems solutions group to ensure accuracy, follow-through and completion, • Demonstrates the ability to work efficiently and effectively without supervision., • Works off-shift, nights, holidays and weekends as needed to support problem resolution or infrastructure upgrades., • Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: The Systems Engineer must have a well-rounded background, solid Windows 200x skills and advanced working knowledge of Active Directory/NT Domains. Additionally, highly recommended and desired is a working knowledge and experience with virtualization and SANs, particularly ISCSI (such as Left-Hand Networks) Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Enterprise level product integration (such as backup / recovery, mobile devices, archiving products and enterprise monitoring solutions). • Bachelors degree in information technology or related field required, • A minimum of 5 years' experience, • Must possess an updated MCSE certification, • Must possess a strong background in Active Directory design and Implementation, • Must have an overall strong understanding of security of active directory and group policies, • Candidate should have a complementary skill such as MS SQL, MS Share Point, MS Exchange, and Office 365, • Extensive experience implementing/migrating XP, 2000, NT 4.0, Active Directory., • MS Exchange Certification is desirable along with experience designing exchange in large enterprise environments, • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills., • Must be customer service and results-oriented and have the ability to work well in fast paced environment., • Required to work off hours on occasion and as needed, • Please note that this position requires a valid drivers license, reliable vehicle and the ability to pass a background check. Job Description Position: Quantum Benchmarking Initiative Systems Engineer Beware of fraudulent job offers and postings! Opportunity Overview: Technergetics is seeking to hire a Systems Engineer to support the AFRL (Airforce Research Laboratory) in Rome, New York and other DoD and Performer locations across the country. While a research background is a valuable skillset for this position, the objective is evaluation, not research. This position will work closely with DARPA's cross-organizational Quantum Benchmarking Initiative (QBI) AFRL team to review, validate, and document approaches enabling revolutionary advances in design, engineering, testing, and evaluation in the domain of fault-tolerant quantum computing and exploring computational workflows that include quantum computing procedures. The primary goal of the QBI program is to determine if any emerging approaches to quantum computing can achieve industrially useful operation exponentially faster than conventional predictions. Position Details Salary Range: $75,000-$150,000 annually. The successful candidate's salary will heavily depend on how many position qualifications the candidate meets, in addition to education and experience. This is a full-time exempt position. Remote performance is expected for this position and Technergetics will consider candidates from across the United States. Regardless of location, a successful candidate can expect to travel to the Washington DC area (DARPA), and Support or Performer sites across the country 10%-40% of any given month. International travel is required for some Performers on this project. Daily activities include frequent VTC meetings and may also require limited/periodic nonstandard work hours to accommodate meetings with team members and Performers across multiple time zones. Responsibilities and Duties The day-to-day activities of DARPA's QBI team include performing tasks to identify, select, capture, evaluate, and document the metrics and approaches that DARPA's commercial Performers are developing and applying to build fault-tolerant, utility-scale quantum computers (USQC). The QBI team is responsible for generating and executing plans to assess the timeline, performance and operation metrics, and plausibility of each Performer's technology. Candidates will verify a Performer's ability to build a USQC that operates as intended, and they will document, report, and justify the findings. The QBI Systems Engineer will apply their expertise as applicable in three typical work categories: • Review and Evaluation, • Rapidly digest large quantities of complex Performer-specific technical details, perform relevant independent evaluations, and generate standardized Government artifacts summarizing independent assessments of that material, • Evaluate quantum computing architectures, devices, algorithms, and applications including utility and maturity, • Identify Performer subsystems and components required to successfully design and construct the system, • Discover, develop, implement, execute, evaluate, analyze, articulate, and justify models and simulations at the component, subsystem, and system levels, • Assess DARPA and Performer requirements; capture and document the level of maturity of these elements, • Identify, assess, and capture design, development, and integration risk, • Identify the Performer's interface approach, • For efforts with an existing Interface Control Document (ICD), review the information and identify any shortcomings. It may be necessary to convert the Performer-provided ICD to a common framework identified/developed by the Government evaluation team., • For Performer efforts that do not have an existing Interface Control Document, assist the Performer to track system interfaces through an ICD or similar document., • Documentation and Reporting, • Assist non-traditional performers to complete design reviews, • Participate in system concept and readiness reviews, • Perform prototype subsystem System Requirements Review (SRR) through Final Design Review (FDR) and prototype construction, • Assist with diverse evaluation and documentation activities, • Identify, implement, and apply standardized Government and systems engineering products, practices, and documentation, • Professionalism and Teamwork, • Work with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, physicists, scientists, engineers, and subject matter experts to identify problems and synthesize solutions which can be integrated into preexisting workflows and processes, • Discover, develop, and lead novel workflows to enhance and improve evaluation processes as new Performers are added to the program, • Cultivate a professional and respectful environment of cooperation by listening and considering the views of others.
