What you’ll do * Own the Tabs design system end-to-end: components, patterns, tokens, and documentation * Lead token strategy: semantic structure, theming, density, and extensibility across products * Work closely with frontend engineers to ensure components are implemented accurately and the system is integrated into real development workflows * Audit existing product UI to identify inconsistencies and systematise solutions rather than one-off fixes * Define and maintain documentation standards so the system is usable without hand-holding * Validate components against real product contexts, identifying gaps and edge cases before they become production problems * Contribute to accessibility standards and encode them into the system itself, not just guidelines * Establish a contribution model so engineers and future designers can add to the system without breaking it What we’re looking for * 4+ years as a Product or UI Designer with demonstrable design systems experience * Deep Figma expertise, components, variants, auto-layout, and library management at scale * Hands-on experience building or significantly evolving a design system, not just consuming one * Strong token pipeline experience: CSS variables, semantic token architectures, and tooling like Tokens Studio * Familiarity with frontend technologies, comfortable reading component code, understanding implementation constraints, and reviewing work in Storybook or equivalent * Strong design fundamentals: visual hierarchy, interaction patterns, responsive systems, and information density * Able to work with engineers as a peer, discussing implementation tradeoffs rather than just handing over specs * Portfolio that shows systems thinking: component libraries, token structures, documentation, or contribution frameworks.
