Job Description Job Title: Aircraft Avionics Technician Job Description This role focuses on assembling, modifying, installing, and troubleshooting aircraft avionics systems and wiring in a final assembly line environment. You will work with wire bundles, conductors, and a variety of electrical components, performing precise tasks such as crimping, pinning, and soldering while following detailed technical documentation. You will ensure accurate documentation of all work performed and collaborate closely with team members across multiple shifts to support high-quality aircraft manufacturing. Responsibilities • Assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors, and other electrical and avionics components on aircraft in a final assembly line environment., • Perform cable lay-ins, terminations, crimping, pinning, soldering, and related avionics wiring tasks in accordance with process specifications., • Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and written instructions to perform installations and modifications correctly., • Clearly document all work performed, including completing required forms, updating logs, and maintaining accurate records of installation activities., • Control and update equipment status tags to reflect current conditions and work progress., • Log critical information during installation activities and verify parts requests to ensure proper materials are used and accounted for., • Use a variety of manual hand tools such as crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, and heat shrink guns, as well as complex and specialized aircraft test equipment., • Troubleshoot avionics systems and wiring issues, perform functional testing, and support avionics repair and installation tasks as needed., • Work with avionics systems for various aircraft platforms, including rotary and fixed-wing models, applying knowledge of aircraft electronics and maintenance practices., • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with coworkers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to coordinate work and resolve issues., • Perform assigned duties on all shifts as needed, including working in varying weather conditions and physical locations while wearing required safety equipment., • High school diploma or equivalent., • 4+ years of electrical or avionic aviation production experience is preferred; relevant military experience will be considered., • Hands-on avionic experience with cable lay-ins, terminations, crimping, pinning, and soldering., • Ability to assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors, and other electrical components., • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and written instructions., • Experience with avionics systems, aircraft avionics, and aircraft electronics in a production or maintenance environment., • Strong troubleshooting skills for avionics systems, wiring, and functional testing., • General knowledge of aviation electrical and avionic components and systems., • Knowledge of rotary or fixed-wing aircraft., • Ability to use manual hand tools such as crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, and heat shrink guns., • Ability to operate complex, specialized aircraft test equipment., • Effective oral and written communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors., • Experience with avionics installations and repairs on aircraft such as CH-47, Chinook, VC-22, MV-22, Osprey, UH-60, UH-1, Apache, AH-64, AgustaWestland, Sikorsky, Eurocopter, Bell Helicopter, Boeing, Gulfstream, Bombardier, and Dassault., • Experience in aircraft maintenance and aircraft assembly environments., • Familiarity with coaxial cables and related avionics wiring practices., • Experience in aircraft manufacturing or final assembly line operations. Work Environment This position is based in a final aircraft assembly line environment, working on advanced avionics systems for modern aircraft. You will work on 1st or 2nd shift, with flexibility required to support production needs across multiple shifts. No personal tools are required, as all necessary tools and specialized test equipment are provided. The role involves regular use of manual hand tools such as crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, and heat shrink guns, as well as complex and specialized aircraft test equipment. You will work in a hands-on production setting that may include varying temperatures, noise levels, and physical locations within the facility, and you will wear required safety equipment as part of daily operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philadelphia, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
